Mr. Willie Walker, Jr. of Cordele, Georgia died Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at Cordele Health and Rehabilitation Center in Cordele, Georgia.
The funeral service will be held Sunday, September 11, 2022 at 10:00 AM at the J. W. Williams Funeral Home Porte Cochere in Cordele, Georgia. The burial will follow at the Pleasant Hill Church Cemetery, Hatley Community, Cordele, Georgia. Everyone in attendance is asked to please wear a mask and to practice social distancing.
Mr. Willie Walker, Jr. was born November 1, 1943 in Cordele, Crisp County, Georgia. He was born to the late Mr. Willie Walker, Sr. and the late Mrs. Lula Mae Tukes Walker.
Known to many as "WWJ" he was educated in the public schools of Crisp County where he attended the A. S. Clark High School.
A believer in the Lord, Jesus Christ, he accepted him as a child at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He later worshipped at the Shady Grove Baptist Church.
For many years he was employed by the State of Georgia. No matter what he was doing, he did it with care and concern.
On Tuesday, September 6, 2022, he peacefully transitioned from this life. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Mr. Randy Jerome Walker, Mrs. Dorothy Mae Pearl Jackson, Mrs. Minnie Mae Williams, and Ms. Ida Mae Walker.
Memories of his life will live on in the hearts of his loving and devoted children, Mr. Sebastian (Parra) Walker of Cordele, Georgia, Mrs. Marquita (Demetrius) James of Dallas, Georgia, Mr. Willard Walker of Cordele, Georgia, Ms. Charquita (Reginald) Walker of Tuskegee, Alabama; his beloved grandchildren, Ms. Keyondra Clark, Ms. Shawanna Hill, Mr. Demetrius James, II, Ms. Amber Hampton, Mr. Van Dennard, and Ms. Gwen Pittman; his loving sisters, Mrs. Louise Payne Smith of Cleveland, Ohio, Mrs. Ruthie Landers of Macon, Georgia, and Mrs. Bernice (Darrell) Westbrook of Long Beach, California; his caring brothers, Mr. Freddie (Julia Mae) Walker of Cordele, Georgia, Mr. Carl (Elaine) Walker of Corona, California, and Mr. Ulysses (Betty) Walker of Cordele, Georgia; a brother-in-law, Mr. Raymond Williams of Las Vegas, Nevada; his aunt, Mrs. Estella Walker Ray of Decatur, Georgia; his devoted former wife, Ms. Elaine Walker of Cordele, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
