Mr. Willie B. Taylor better known as "Sonny Boy" of 471 West Washington Avenue, Ashburn, Georgia died Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at his residence.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 10:00 AM at the J. W. Williams Funeral Home Porte Cochere in Cordele, Georgia. The burial will follow at the Westview Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia. Everyone in attendance is asked to please wear a mask and to practice social distancing.
Willie B Taylor was born on October 21, 1945 to the late Henry Drayton and the late Alice Taylor Reeves in Cordele, GA. He was affectionately called "World of Trouble" or "Sonny Boy" by friends and family. Sonny Boy was the middle child, as the sixth, of twelve children. His brothers, Nathaniel Reeves and Roy Reeves; sisters, Betty Ruth Brown, Bernice Kellogg, and Mary Doster all preceded him in death.
Sonny Boy was introduced to Jesus Christ at an early age. His mom was sure to teach each of his siblings how to pray and the importance of having their own relationship with the Lord. As he matured, his love for the Lord only grew stronger. Sonny Boy never shied away from an opportunity to share his testimony.
Those that knew him could agree that Sonny Boy's greatest passion was music. He could often times be seen walking around town carrying his "boom box", blasting one of many, old school classics. His humorous and loving personality made him the life of any party. Although of humble education, Sonny Boy was a hard worker and was amazing with his hands. This keen ability lead him to employment with various construction companies.
Sonny Boy's loving daughter, Williene Taylor, preceded him in death. However, he leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Bernice Taylor, Atlanta, GA; brothers, James D. Reeves, Anniston, AL, Floyd L. Reeves, Sr., Atlanta, GA and Robert Reeves, Cleveland, OH; sisters, Pastor Alice McKenzie, Cordele, GA, Rev. Dorothy R. Jones (Bobby), Cordele, GA, Evangelist Mildred Robinson, Philadelphia, PA, Diane Bell, Cordele, GA, Wona Jenkins (Fred), Cincinnati, OH, Yvonne Reeves, Detroit, MI, and Agnes Parker, Detroit, MI. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and dear friends.
