Mr. Willie D. Paul of 2103 South 10th Street, Cordele, Georgia died Friday, March 29, 2024 at the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 10:00 AM in the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia.

Everyone entering the funeral home for visitations or services is required to wear a mask and to practice social distancing.  A mask must be worn throughout the stay.  You must supply your own mask.

Willie D. Paul affectionately known as David passed away the morning of Friday, March 29, 2024.  He passed while undergoing treatment for Leukemia at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia.

Willie was born in Cordele, Georgia in May 6, 1963 to Louise Roundtree (deceased) but adopted by Mary Paul (deceased). He received his high school diploma from Crisp County High School. He enjoyed fishing and  cracking jokes. He earned a living by working in the construction industry. He taught himself how to operate various types of heavy equipment.  He eventually moved to Florida, where he met Linda in 1983. They were united in holy matrimony in 1990.  During his time in Florida, he founded and operated his own construction company.  The company help lay the foundations for many multi-million dollar communities that were built in and around Broward County.  Twenty years later he returned to Cordele, where he continued to work in the construction industry. Over the last three years he worked at Olam Americas as a Heavy Equipment Operator.

He will be missed by his wife, Linda Paul; his mother-in-law, Carrie Bryant; five children: Octavioua Thomas, Jerry Thomas, Jr. (Chasity), Carrie Lofton (Nicholas), Willie Paul, Jr. and Ashley Paul; 12 grandchildren: Damarcus Thornton, London Thornton, Akayla Paul, Taraji Isom, Amira Thomas, Jerry Thomas, III, Aiden Neal, Camren Lofton, Jermarri Thomas, Tiana Small, Nicholas and Amiya Lofton; two brothers: Maurice Roundtree (Charlsee) and Floyd Roundtree; three brothers-in-law: Billy Ray Ford (Lisa), Calvin Ford, and Cleveland Ford; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Willie was predeceased in death by his siblings: Tyrone Roundtree, Gwendolyn Roundtree, Mary Faulkner and Sarah Paul.
