Mr. Willie Lee Levant, Sr. of 724 West 28th Avenue, Cordele, Georgia, died Monday, December 1, 2025, at the Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele, Georgia.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia. The burial will follow at the Bethel Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia.
Everyone entering the funeral home for visitations or services is required to wear a mask and maintain social distancing. A mask must be worn throughout the stay. You must supply your mask.
Willie Lee Levant, Sr. was born on May 27, 1958, in Cordele, Georgia, to Ned Lavant and Carrie Lee Brown Lavant. He was educated in the public schools of Crisp County, where he developed a strong foundation for his life ahead.
From a young age, Willie Lee became a member of Odum Grove Baptist Church, which played a significant role in his life. He possessed a strong love for his family and community.
Willie Lee was known as a great husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He cherished his family and was happiest when surrounded by them. He had a special talent for lovingly aggravating his children and grandchildren, a testament to his playful and loving nature. His ever-present big smile was a hallmark of his joyful spirit.
Willie's love for farming, particularly during watermelon season, was well-known. He found joy in working the land and took pride in the fruits of his labor.
A dedicated supporter of the Dallas Cowboys, Willie Lee enjoyed watching his favorite NFL team and cheering them on with enthusiasm.
Willie Lee Levant, Sr. departed this life on Monday, December 1, 2025, at Crisp Regional Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandson Quantravius Lavant, and his sister Maxine Lavant Smith.
Willie Lee's legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He leaves behind a loving family: his cherished wife, Carrie Bell Woodson Levant of Cordele, Georgia; his beloved children, Waverly (Jason) Childs of Cordele, Georgia, Sharnika Lavant of Warner Robins, Georgia, Trudy (Vincent) Felton of Perry, Georgia, Willie Lee Lavant, Jr., Dennis Woodson, Carlos Woodson, and Rodrico (Jessica) Roberts of Cordele, Georgia; his grandchildren, Anjarvius Lavant of Cordele, Georgia, Shumaya Wellons and Camren Ross of Warner Robins, Georgia, Mark James of Macon, Georgia, Dominque Bailey of Atlanta, Georgia, Chelsa Woodson Bartell, Aryia Roberts, Ricoriah Roberts, and Rico Roberts, Jr. all of Cordele, Georgia; 14 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Eddie Mae Gaston, Patricia Turner, Waverly Gaskin, Marynell Holland, Maybell Woodson and Norma Smith all of Cordele, Georgia; his brothers, JR (Costella) Lavant, AB (Wendolyn) Lavant, Calvin Lavant, Eddie Lee (Carolyn) Lavant and Michael (Betty) Lavant all of Cordele, Georgia; a special cousin, Otis Lavant of Albany, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many sorrowing friends.
