Mr. William King, Sr. of 601 North Hickory Street, Cordele, Georgia died Thursday, February 1, 2024 at the Crisp Regional Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Cordele, Georgia.
The funeral service will be held Friday, February 9, 2024 at 1:00 PM in the sanctuary of the Shady Grove Baptist Church in Cordele, Georgia. The burial will follow at the Bethel Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia.
Mr. William King, Sr. was welcomed to this world on March 25, 1950 in Macon, Bibb County, Georgia. He was the sixth child born to the late Mr. Johnnie Lee King and the late Mrs. Hattie Mae Little King.
He received his education in the public schools of Bibb County. He was a 1967 graduate of Ballard Hudson High School.
A believer in Jesus Christ, he accepted him as his personal Savior. He united with the Piney Grove Baptist Church under the pastorage of Reverend Jesse Watts.
A truck driver, he enjoyed traveling up and down the highways. In his spare time he enjoyed playing cards and Bingo.
On Thursday, February 1, 2024 he peacefully left this world. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Frankie Lee Churn King. His siblings, Mr. Johnnie Lee King, Jr., Mr. Sammie King, Mr. Ernest King, Mrs. Ella Mae Mincey, Ms. Gladys Ann King, and Ms. Jacquelyn King, also precede him in death.
He is survived by his loving and devoted children, Ms. Tawana King of Macon, Georgia, Mrs. Shwana (Martelle) Davis of Cordele, Georgia, Mr. William King, Jr., Mr. Ormaine (Kiara) White, Mr. Johnny Churn, and Mr. Ricky Churn of Macon, Georgia, Mr. Samuel (Yolanda) Churn of Cordele, Georgia, Mr. Antonio Hutchings of Florida, and Mr. Marcus Hutchings of Macon, Georgia; 17 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; a beloved sister-in-law, Mrs. Eddie Mae Cook of Cordele, Georgia; a host of nieces and nephews, to include his special nieces, Ms. Janice Hill and Ms. Linda Morgan of Macon, Georgia, Mrs. Barbara (Darquita) Nettles and Mrs. Mary (Alfred) Rushing of Cordele, Georgia; a host of other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
