Mr. Wilbert Eugene Woods of 612 Barbara Jenkins Street, Cocoa, Florida died Monday, May 13, 2024 at Rockledge Regional Medical Center in Rockledge, Florida.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia.

Everyone entering the funeral home for visitations or services is required to wear a mask and to practice social distancing.  A mask must be worn throughout the stay.  You must supply your own mask.

Wilbert Eugene Woods was born October 30, 1968, in Americus Georgia to the parentage of the late Mr. Eugene Woods and late Mrs. Essie Mae Bivins Woods.

He attended Americus High School.

Mr. Woods met the love of his life, Ms. Yvette Prince, whom he later married. He moved to South Florida where he  pursued a career in roofing under the tutelage of his father-in-law, Mr. Sammie Prince for several years. He  later became a Heavy Equipment Operator as an employee of J. P. Backhoe Service, Inc., Loxahatchee, Florida for 15 years.

He is preceded in death by his sisters, Ms. Regina Woods, Ms. Susie Woods, Ms. Salathia Bivins, Ms. Mary Woods, and Mrs. Lily Lyles; his brother, Mr. Henry Woods; a stepson, Cornelius Thomas; half-sister, Ms. Minnie Ruth Tatum; one aunt, Ms. Rena Mae Bivins; his niece and nephews, Mr. Roberto (Tomas) Rhymes, Mr. Rodriquez Woods, Mr. Zonchez Prince and Miss Alexus Woods.

Wilbert was a devoted husband and father and loving grandfather. On Monday, May 13, 2024, Mr. Wilbert Eugene Woods gained his wings and left this earthly life for his eternal home. For this is a journey we all must take, and each must go alone. It is all a part of the Masters plan. A step on the road to home. For we know the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord.

He leaves to cherish his memories Mrs. Yvette Prince; a loving daughter, Beunka Prince of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; a loving and devoted stepdaughter, DeAire (Wilco); a  stepson, BJ (Jamie) all of  Florida; 12 loving grandchildren, Zaurus, Zakhi, Shan, Zayden, Zorie, Wayde, Zi Yale, CJ, Shaniyah, Brile, Trinty, and Bralen; one brother, Mr. Eugene Woods of Americus, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces & great nephews who live in  Atlanta, Texas, and Americus; many cousins, other relatives and friends also survive.
