Mr. Walter James Felton of 2711 Five Star Road, Vienna, Georgia, died Monday, October 6, 2025, at the Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 11:00 AM, in the sanctuary of the Turkey Creek Baptist Church in Lilly, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Vienna City Cemetery in Vienna, Georgia.

Walter James Felton was born on September 28, 1947, in Vienna, Georgia. He was the beloved son of Johnny Felton, Sr., and Minnie Alice Moore Felton. From a young age, Walter was instilled with strong values and a deep sense of community, which he carried with him throughout his life.

Pee-Wee, as he was known received his education at the Lilly Public School, where he laid the foundation for his lifelong dedication to hard work and learning. This commitment was not only evident in his own pursuits but was also a value he imparted to his family and community.

A member of the Turkey Creek Baptist Church, Walter was known for his commitment to serving others. He enjoyed giving a helping hand wherever needed.

For 40 years, Walter dedicated himself to farming, a profession that was not just a job but a passion. He found joy in working the land,  nurturing it, and watching it yield. Beyond farming, he took great pleasure in gardening, manicuring his lawn, and spending time outdoors.

In addition to his work on the farm, Walter had a passion for working on cars, a hobby that allowed him to combine his love for mechanics with his enjoyment of creative problem-solving. His curiosity and skill in this area were admired by many.

Walter James Felton departed this life on October 6, 2025, at Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, SSG Steven Lamar Felton, his brothers, John L. Felton, Jr., and Johnny Lee Felton, and his brothers-in-law, Willie Joe Hardrick, Warren Hardrick, and Johnny J. Hardrick.

Cherished memories are left to his loving and devoted wife, Jeanette Felton of Vienna, Georgia; his loving and devoted children: Rose  Marie Bennett (Larry) of Vienna, Georgia, Vanessa Elaine Felton-Groves (Tim) of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Laverne Denise Felton of Cordele, Georgia, and Keith Lamar Felton of Vienna, Georgia; his daughter-in-law, Veronica Jones Felton of Augusta, Georgia; his grandchildren,   Brittany Hardrick, Cameron Wilson, Justin Walker, Caitlin Walker, and Cameron Norman; his great-grandchildren, Justin Walker, Jr., Jaden Williams, Isen E. J. Williams, Kasen Walker, Terrance Bryant, Jr.; his loving sisters, Dorothy Leggett of Hawkinsville, Georgia and Aline Felton of Vienna, Georgia; his aunt, Julia Mae Turner of Cordele, Georgia;  his sisters-in-law, Betty Hardrick, Annie Mae Wiggins, Ella Mae Sanders, Katie Mae Felton, Julia Mae Hardrick, and Lillie Mae Hardrick all of Vienna, Georgia; his brothers-in-law, Conrad Hardrick (Mary Ruth) of Vienna, Georgia and Charlie Hardrick (Amelia) of Hawkinsville, Georgia; a special niece, Kandra Hardrick of Montezuma, Georgia; a special nephew, Larry Leggett of Warner Robins, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many sorrowing friends, including his special friends Walter Lango and The Roney Family of Lilly, Georgia.
