Ms. Virginia Byrom of Atlanta, Georgia, formerly of Cordele, Georgia, died Friday, February 27, 2026, at her residence.

The funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at 12:00 Noon in the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Spring Hill Church Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia.

Everyone entering the funeral home for visitations or services is required to wear a mask and maintain social distancing.  A mask must be worn throughout the stay.  You must supply your mask.

Our beloved daughter, sister, mother and grandmother was born on February 2, 1953 in Cordele, Georgia to the parentage of the late Ceaser Byrom, Sr. and Dewell Easter Mae Sheffield Byrom.  She departed this life on February 27, 2026 at her residence in  Atlanta, Georgia.

She received her education from the Crisp County Public School System.  She was a proud graduate of the first mandated,          integrated class of 1971 at Crisp County High School.

Early in her career, she started working as a seamstress in Cordele and later in Columbus, Georgia, and went on to then she retire  after moving to Atlanta, Georgia.  She learned how to make her own clothes and would proudly outfit her sons in seasonal costumes, as well.  A natural provider, she often shared with her family and friends by cooking and giving out essentials: school supplies, clothes and shoes to anyone who needed them. Literally, she never showed up empty handed for any family  function or occasion. She enjoyed life to the fullest, loved to dance and entertain.  Her very special and funny laugh will forever be remembered by all. Above all, she loved God and her family.

Virginia is preceded in death by her parents; the love of her life, Wayne Allen and her great grandson, Ty'Qwan June.

Left to cherish her beautiful memories are her devoted sons, Anthony Byrom of Warner Robins, Georgia and Reginald Glenn of Columbus, Georgia; her loving granddaughters, Valencia Elias, Courtney Burt, Desiree' Onley, Virginia Glenn and Regina Glenn all of Columbus, Georgia; her grandsons, Little Reginald Glenn of Columbus, Georgia and Savion Bernard Parker of Warner  Robins, Georgia; her great grandchildren, Zyon June, Jaida Carter, Cameron Glenn and Kayla Glenn all of Columbus, Georgia; four brothers, Willie James (Willie Mae) Byrom and   Eddie Byrom, both of Cordele, Georgia, Ceaser Byrom, Jr. of  Titusville, Florida and Bernard (Jaylene) Byrom of Fort Mitchell, Alabama; six sisters, Lillie Mathis, Nellie Shivers, Ruth Felton, Elizabeth (Frank) Brown, Joann (Nelson) Barrett and Linda (Ray) Rollins all of Cordele, Georgia; one uncle, Lonnie Dennard of Bear, Delaware; a host of nieces, nephews and many sorrowing friends.
