Ms. Tywana Renane Cheese of 520 West 20th Avenue, Cordele, Georgia, died Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at her residence.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 10:00 AM in the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia. The burial will follow at the Crossroad Cemetery in Unadilla, Georgia.
Everyone entering the funeral home for visitations or services is required to wear a mask and maintain social distancing. A mask must be worn throughout the stay. You must supply your mask.
Tywana Renea Cheese was born on November 17, 1969, in Dooly County, Georgia. She was the cherished daughter of Walter James Cheese, Sr. and Ruby Cheese Lucas. Tywana grew up in the Crisp and Dooly community, where she graduated from Crisp County High School in Cordele in 1988.
Tywana was a member of the New Oak Grove Baptist Church, joining under the leadership of Reverend Hosie Waters. Her faith provided her with strength and community.
Throughout her career, Tywana contributed her skills to Tyson Foods and Lasco Bathware. She was known for her commitment and work ethic. Beyond her professional life, she had a deep love for her family, cherishing time spent with them and her friends at the Garden Club. Tywana was also an avid television watcher and a passionate fan of the Atlanta Falcons, cheering them on with unwavering enthusiasm.
Tywana passed away on June 16, 2026, leaving a legacy a beautiful memory with her family. She was preceded in death by her father, Walter James Cheese, Sr.; her grandson, Kyro Hughes; and her grandparents, Lelia Mae Cheese and Mary Foster.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Keyaundra Cheese and Jalin Jackson, both of Cordele, Georgia; her mother, Ruby Cheese Lucas of Cordele, Georgia; her sisters, Lataunya (Terry) Dunnum of Tifton, Georgia, and Juanita (Gary) Stokeling of Stone Mountain, Georgia; her brother, Walter (Shaunda) Cheese of Hawkinsville, Georgia; and her bonus siblings, Rosa (Bennie) Howard, Tony (Michelle) King of Cordele, Georgia, Patricia Neal of North Carolina, Curtis Lucas, Jr., Zilmer (Brenda) Lucas of Cordele, Georgia, Deniece (Elvin) Presley of Florida, and Ollie Canady of Atlanta, Georgia; her aunts and uncle, Roxy Smith of Riverdale, Georgia, Linda (Neil) Thomas of Douglasville, Georgia, and Willie Durham, Louise Taylor, and Sarah Durham of Macon, Georgia; her nephews, Dempsey Merrell of Tifton, Georgia, and Cedrick (Athena) Merrell, Jr. of Texas; her special friends, Janiah Hughes of Cordele, Georgia, and Jackie Lester of Houston County, Georgia; a host of cousins, other relatives, and many friends, including Barbara Walker, Meka Tolbert, Wona Kee Doster, and Maylee Harris of Cordele, Georgia, Pat Coleman of Vienna, Georgia, and Teresa Maloy and Jessica Tolbert of Houston, Texas.
