Obituary

Mr. Tommy Kindel affectionately known as "Tom Slick" of 1550 Borum Street, Unadilla, Georgia died Saturday, January 1, 2022 at his residence.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 3:00 PM at the J. W. Williams Funeral Home Porte Cochere in Cordele, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Forest Chapel Church Cemetery in Pinehurst, Georgia.  Everyone in attendance is asked to please wear a mask and to practice social distancing.

James Thomas Kindel and Ida Mae Clark Pough were blessed with the birth of a son on November 25, 1951.  Born in Peach County, Georgia, they named him Tommy Lee.

A 1969 graduate of Sebring High School in Sebring, Florida, he was affectionately known to his family and friends as "Tom Slick."

He accepted Christ and worshipped at the Forest Chapel Baptist Church in Pinehurst, Georgia.  He was a dedicated member of the Usher Board.

Tommy was a long-time employee of Crisp Academy Private School.  After retiring, he enjoyed working in his yard.  He did not limit his talents of beautifying yards to just his own, he also added his special touch to the yards of others.  He won "Yard of the Month" for the City of Unadilla many times.

On Saturday, January 1, 2022, he traded the cares of this life for a life free of pain.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Louise Gary Kindel, his parents, and his brother, Mr. Isaac Kindel.

Wonderful memories of his life will live on in the hearts of his loving children, Ms. Tometrice Kindel and Mr. Rashad Ross both of  Cordele, Georgia, Mr. Maurice (Jowanna) Gary of Reading, Pennsylvania, Ms. Christina Gary of McDonough, Georgia, Mrs. Yolanda (Robert) Griffin of Perry, Georgia, Ms. Kimberly Kindel of Atlanta, Georgia, Ms. Takeshia Taylor of Auburn, Georgia, Mrs. Tera (Stevie) Bowens of Albany, Georgia, Mr. Manolita "Monte" Kindel of Newark, New Jersey, and Mrs. Twilia (Reginald) Brown of Summerville, North Carolina; 26 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; his loving sisters, Ms. Ideala Kindel of Boca Raton, Florida and Ms. Sally Ruth Kindel of Sebring, Florida; a beloved brother, Mr. Sammie Kindel of Cordele, Georgia; his aunts, Mrs.  Lizzie Barnes and Mrs. Hattie Mitchell both of Delray Beach, Florida; his sisters-in-law, Mrs. Rosemary Flenory of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Amanda (Rufus) Crane of Warner Robins,   Georgia, Ms. Geneva Green of Albany, Georgia, Ms. Mattie Flagg of Atlanta, Georgia, and Mrs. Annie Jean (Donnie) Gaye of Atlanta, Georgia; his brothers-in-law, Mr. Melvin Taylor and Mr. John Taylor both of Unadilla, Georgia, Mr. Clinnie (Betty) Taylor of Fort Myers, Florida, Mr. Walter Taylor of Perry, Georgia, and Mr. Ron Edwards of Elko, Georgia; a host of nieces and nephews; many cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends, to include his special friend, Ms. Evern Harrell and his friends, Mr. Fairow Taylor, Sr., Mr. Charles Taylor, and Mr. Bob Williams.
