Mr. Tommy Lee James of 311 West 14th Avenue, Cordele, Georgia died Thursday, July 13, 2023 at the Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele, Georgia.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 10:00 AM in the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia. The burial will follow at the Bethel Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia.
Everyone entering the funeral home for visitations or services is required to wear a mask and to practice social distancing. A mask must be worn throughout the stay. You must supply your own mask.
Tommy Lee James was born July 14, 1964 in Cordele, Crisp County, Georgia. He was born to Deacon Charlie James, Sr. and Mother Fannie Mae Jones James.
Tommy was educated in the public schools of Crisp County.
He accepted Christ as his personal Savior. He was baptized as a child at the New Oak Grove Baptist Church in Cordele, Georgia.
Tommy was employed for several years by the Crisp County School System School Nutrition Program. He had previously been employed by Clary Logging Company and Pettis Tire Company.
On Thursday, July 13, 2023, one day before his birthday, he surrendered to the will of the Lord. His parents and his brothers, Billy, David, and Deon, each preceded him in death.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Mrs. Linda Ford James of Cordele, Georgia; his loving and caring children, Mr. Thomas James, Mr. Artavious James and his companion, Ms. Marie Williams, Mrs. Artisa James (Lenoris) Brown, Mr. LaQuince James, Mr. Sabrabian James, and Ms. Antanika James all of Cordele, Georgia; 21 grandchildren; his loving sisters, Ms. Patricia Paul and Mrs. Betty (Willie) Walker of Cordele, Georgia, and Mrs. Mary (Timothy) Hicks of Vienna, Georgia; hisvbeloved brothers, Mr. Charlie (Tanya) James, Jr. of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Deacon Bobby (Yvonne) James and Mr. Sammy James of Cordele, Georgia; a beloved aunt, Mrs. Bessie Lewis of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; his sisters-in-law, Ms. Victoria Allen and Mrs. Victoria James; his brother-in-law, Mr. Marcus Ford; family friends, Ms. Connie James and Mrs. Patricia White both of Cordele, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
