Our lives were blessed with a loving, selfless, peacemaker on August 9, 1958 when Tommie Jean Robinson Lawson was born.  She was welcomed to this world by her loving parents, Mary Frances Robinson and the late Tommy Lee Robinson.

Growing up in Vienna, Georgia, Tommie Jean embraced the spiritual morals of her family when she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and united with the Bethel Baptist Church.  At Bethel she served as an usher and was also a 50 Year Plus member.

Tommie Jean was enrolled in the public schools of Dooly County where she was taught the value of an education.   She was a 1976 graduate of the Vienna High & Industrial School.

For many years she was employed by the Crisp Regional Nursing and Rehabilitation Center as a Certified Nursing Assistant.  For years she also worked as a Substitute Teacher for the Dooly County School System.

Tommie Jean will be remembered as an individual who loved God, her family and friends.  Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, she loved joking with them and making new memories.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, shopping, and telling funny stories that her Dad passed on to her.  She also enjoyed traveling, taking family vacations, and   talking on the phone with her loved ones.  Jean also loved to dance and listen to music.  You could always catch her on the dance floor when "The Bus Stop" came on.

On Thursday, March 3, 2022, with the quickness of the wind, she was gone from our lives.  Along with her father she is preceded in death by her brother, Muhammad Robinson.

Memories of her life are left to her loving and devoted husband of 28 years, Sammy James Lawson of Vienna, Georgia; her loving and devoted children, Damieon (Antwishia) Robinson of Warner Robins, Georgia, Shaquella (Brodney) Clark of Cordele, Georgia, and Talisha (John Lee, Jr.) Adams of Knoxville, Tennessee; her stepdaughter, Amy Winslow of Oglethorpe, Georgia; her grandchildren, Brodney Clark, Jr., Jada Ne'cole Culler, Shamyra Clark, Samaya Clark, Broquavious Clark, Jamarion Clark, and Na'Talia Robinson; a special niece and nephew, Kanisha Harris and Shamar Gaines of Warner Robins, Georgia; her loving and devoted mother, Mary Frances Robinson of Vienna, Georgia; her loving sisters, Katherine (Harold) Chaney of Marietta, Georgia, Latanga (Jerry) Neal of Warner Robins, Georgia, Debra Sue (Robert, Jr.) Owens of Ellenwood, Georgia, Peggy (Don) Black of Orlando, Florida, Cindy Farmer and Brandy Farmer both of Atlanta, Georgia; her caring brothers, Frankie Lee (Nazaree) Robinson of Hapeville, Georgia, Kelvin (Patricia) Robinson of Cordele, Georgia, Timothy (Joann) Robinson of Vienna, Georgia, Dewayne (Teresa) Watts, Norman (Marcia) Smith,  Alfred Robinson, and Lawrence Robinson all of Atlanta, Georgia; her aunts and uncles, Calvin Robinson and Charles Robinson both of Miami, Florida, and Willie Frank Jones, Jr. of California; her in-laws, Johnnie Mae Lawson Jones of Vienna, Georgia and Willie Mae Anderson of Unadilla, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, to include her special cousins, Angela Jones of Atlanta, Georgia and Lisa Jacobs of Warner Robins, Georgia; her special friends, Norma Jean Hicks of Cordele, Georgia and Anquinette Passmore of Atlanta, Georgia; a special classmate, Carol Smith Killings of Vienna, Georgia; a host of other relatives and friends, to include a Golden Retriever, Rocky.
