Timothy E. Lockett was born September 13, 1960 in Cordele, Crisp County, Georgia.  Tim was born to Wilbert Boston and Ramona Lockett (John) Battiste.

He was educated in the public schools of Crisp County where he attended the Crisp County High School.  He dedicated and accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age.  He was a member of the New Oak Grove Baptist Church.

Timothy loved serenading his beautiful wife and others with song.  He was a huge Michael Jackson fan and never missed an opportunity to show off his favorite dance moves.  He was an EXCELLENT cook and loved to feed whomever entered his home.  With his infectious smile, that brought light to any room, Tim was the "life of the party."

He was deeply loved by his devoted wife, family and especially his grandchildren.  To sum it up, he "was all that and a bag of chips".  He would never hesitate to ask you, "Can you ROCKET LIKE A LOCKETT"!!!

On Tuesday, February 27, 2024 our beloved Timothy peacefully slipped away.  While our hearts will forever miss him and the joy he shared, we take comfort in knowing that he is at peace.  Along with his father, Wilbert, Timothy is preceded  in death  by his grandparents, George & Ocie  Lockette and Luther & Geraldine Battiste.

Many special memories are left to his loving and devoted wife, Betty Jones Lockett of Cordele, Georgia;  his loving children, Timothy Lockett (Deanna Kay) of Camilla, Georgia, Erica Sanders of Cordele, Georgia, Rashandra Jones of Montezuma, Georgia, LaTonya Jones of Smithville, Georgia and April Jones of Macon, Georgia; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; his loving sisters, Lashawnda Battiste-Sellers (Benjamin) and Vera Battiste of Columbus, Ohio, Sherikki Battiste of Waldorf, Maryland and Andreene Battiste of Columbus, Ohio; his beloved brothers, John D.
