Mrs. Thelma Jean Jones Williams of 188 Henry Road, Warwick, Georgia, died Friday, August 1, 2025, at Magnolia Manor in Americus, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 3:30 PM at the Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Warwick, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Fort Early Church Cemetery in Warwick, Georgia.

Thelma Jean Jones Williams was born on August 31, 1945, in the small town of Arabi, Georgia. She was the cherished daughter of Robert and Thelma Williams. As a child, Thelma grew up in a loving family environment that deeply valued community, education, and faith.

Thelma attended the Worth County Community School, where she not only gained an education but also developed a strong sense of community spirit and service. Her faith was a guiding force throughout her life, and she was a devoted member of Mount     Moriah Baptist Church in Warwick, Georgia, for many years.

Thelma had a zest for life that was reflected in her many interests and hobbies. She had a remarkable talent for sewing and a caring nature that extended to all those around her. Thelma loved to dance and sing, bringing joy to everyone she met. Her love for gardening was well-known, and she took great pleasure in nurturing both her plants and her relationships.

Family was at the heart of Thelma's life. She was especially fond of spending time with her grandchildren and her beloved sister,  Earnestine. The two sisters were often seen together, always on the go, attending to their loved ones and each other with unwavering dedication.

Thelma Jean Jones Williams transitioned from labor to reward on Friday, August 1, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Williams, her parents, and her siblings, Gennie Mae English, Robert Jones, Monroe Jones, Bobby Williams, Joe Williams, Izell Williams, Lindberg Williams, Robert Williams, Jr., Willie Hargrove, Johnnie D. Williams, Ardean Williams Parker, and Chaltin Ray.

Thelma Jean Jones Williams will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family and community. Her legacy is one of love and compassion, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.  She leaves cherished memories with her children: Janice Williams of Albany, Georgia; Teresa Smith (Reverend Karl) of Leesburg, Georgia; Curtis Williams (Felicia) of Warwick, Georgia; Patricia Coley of Cordele, Georgia; Raymond Williams of Warwick, Georgia; Michael Williams (Katrisha) and Gloria Dawson both of Cordele, Georgia; 24 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; her sisters: Earnestine Rogers of Tifton, Georgia, and Bessie Cummings of Sandersville, Georgia; her brother, Johnny B. Hargrove of St. Petersburg, Florida; her uncle, Sam Edmonson of Cordele, Georgia; four sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; a host of nieces and nephews, including her special niece and nephew, Sharon Roberson and Charles Rogers of Tifton, Georgia; and numerous other relatives. She also leaves behind many sorrowing friends, including her special friend, Mayor Juanita Kinchens of Warwick, Georgia.
