Ms. Teresa Michele Peterson of 607 West 19th Avenue, Cordele, Georgia died Friday, August 4, 2023.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 10:00 AM in chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Westview Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia.

Everyone in attendance is asked to please wear a mask and to practice social distancing.

With joy and happiness Teresa Michele Peterson was welcomed to this world on July 18, 1973.  She was born to Freddie Peterson and Maleta Jackson.

Teresa was introduced to Jesus Christ early in life at the Gethsemane Baptist Church.  She was baptized and sang in the Junior Choir.

She was enrolled in the public schools of Crisp County.  As a student she grew and earned the admiration of her teachers and fellow classmates. In 1991, she became a graduate of Crisp County High School.   While residing in Atlanta, she attended Osbourne University where she studied Cosmetology .  She later attended South Georgia Technical College and where she studied courses to become a Medical Assistant and Private Duty Sitting.

Teresa valued the relationship she had with her children.  She enjoyed the simple things in life, traveling to Atlanta, talking on her phone, riding around and sitting on the porch.  Affectionately known as "T. T.", it was while sitting on the porch that she developed a loving relationship with the children of the neighborhood.  She also enjoyed watching Tyler Perry movies.

On Friday, August 4, 2023, with the quickness of the wind, our breath of life left this world.  We will forever cherish every moment spent with her.

Her life will be cherished and remembered by her loving and devoted family, her mother, Maleta Jackson of Cordele, Georgia; her father, Freddie Peterson of Cordele, Georgia; her children, T'Passhioniese Peterson and Latravious Peterson of Cordele,  Georgia; her aunts and uncles, Carrie Brooks, Clara Brooks, Sarah Jackson, Johnnie Thomas, and Laura Clark & Family of Cordele, Georgia, Betty Peterson and Lester Peterson of Atlanta, Georgia, Karen Lawrence of Chicago, Illinois and L. C. Johnson of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; children she raised, Zyn Dempsey, K. J. Ashley, Mya Glover, Caleb Glover, Kadaria Johnson, and Tycia Clark; her friends she regarded as sisters, Sonya Green and  Keisha Gaston of Cordele, Georgia; a special cousin, Darquetta Peterson & Family of Cordele, Georgia; a host of other relatives and many sorrowing friends to include, a  host of cousins, The Thomas Family, The Redding Family, Martha Hayes & Family, Sharon & Aaron, The Soloman Family, The Royal Family, The Ford Family, The Brooks Family, Bernice Reynolds & Family, Zilmer (Brenda) Lucas, Soloman Haugabrook, Candice Jones, Madie Clark & Family, and her patient, Miss Karen.
