Mrs. Tammie Wyvetta Ridley Smith of 146 Ruby Street, Cordele, Georgia, died Monday, February 9, 2026, at her residence.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia. The burial will follow at the Sunnyside Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia.
Everyone entering the funeral home for visitations or services is required to wear a mask and maintain social distancing. A mask must be worn throughout the stay. You must supply your mask.
Our beloved, Tammie Wyvetta Ridley was born on May 13, 1967, in Cordele, Georgia to the late Emma Ridley and Willie James Byrom.
Tammie attended school in Cordele, Georgia and graduated from Crisp County High School in 1986. She was married to the love of her life, Craig Steven Smith, for 31 years.
She found joy in spending time with her family; taking trips, and going out to eat.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, the late Emma Jackson and the late Dewell Easter Mae Byrom, and her uncle, Julius Fields. On Monday, February 9, 2026, she peacefully transitioned from this life.
Many wonderful members are left to her husband, Craig Steven Smith of Cordele, Georgia; her children, Ayana Smith and Tamiya Smith both of Cordele, Georgia; her one and only grandson, Zahair Smith of Cordele, Georgia; her father, Willie James Byrom (Willie Mae) of Cordele, Georgia; her sisters, Yoland Faye McKenzie of Titusville, Florida, Youlanda Carr of Atlanta, Georgia, Felita Jackson, Qunay Jackson, and Evetta Coleman all of Cordele, Georgia; her brothers, Craig Jackson (Shelia), Jermaine Byrom (Keesha), and Dominic Jackson all of Cordele, Georgia; her aunts and uncles, Joann Barrett (Nelson), Jackie Ridley, Fredrick Jackson, Scottie Jackson, Lillie Mathis, Nellie Shivers, Eddie Byrom, Ruth Felton, Elizabeth Brown (Frank), and Linda Gail Rollins (Ray) all of Cordele, Georgia, Ceasar Byron of Titusville, Florida, Virginia Byrom of Atlanta, Georgia, and Bernard Byrom (Jalynne) of Fort Mitchelle, Alabama; her special nephews, Shambi Smith and Cord Jones; her special friends, Becky Dunn of Temple, Georgia, Darlene Ayub of Douglasville, Georgia, Molly Doster and Iranette Denmark both of Cordele, Georgia, Martin Swiney of Dallas, Texas; two sisters-in-law, four brothers-in-law; a devoted cousin, Edna Clay; her cousin/brother, Edward Ridley; a host of cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
She truly will be missed. Gone but not forgotten.
