Suzette Felton Dawson, affectionately known as "Zette," was born on August 18, 1957, in Crisp County, Georgia. She was the beloved daughter of Timmie Felton, Sr. and Sallie Mae   Felton. Zette's formative years were spent in the Crisp County School System, where she graduated from Crisp County High School in 1977. Her pursuit of knowledge continued at South Georgia Tech, where she furthered her education.

For 61 years, Suzette was a member of Cross Road Missionary Baptist Church, where she shared her vocal talents as a devoted member of the choir. Her gift for singing extended beyond the church as she, along with her sisters, formed the renowned group "The Felton Singers." Additionally, she was a founding member of the United Fellowship Mass Choir, through which she shared her love of music with many.

Zette was known for her infectious laughter and her genuine love for people. She had a remarkable ability to bring joy to those around her through her own "well explained" vocabulary.  She was always eager to make  others smile and laugh. Her kindness and humor will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Suzette transitioned peacefully on Thursday, June 11, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents, her former husband, Willie Dawson, and her siblings, Betty Elijah and Terry Felton.

Zette's legacy lives on through her children, Olivia V.  Dawson and Antonio Demetrious Dawson, both of Cordele, Georgia; 18 grandchildren, including Y'Shantice "Shani" Collins, Antonio "TJ" Tolbert, and Ra'keria "Keria" Way, all of Cordele,  Georgia; three great-grandchildren; her sisters, Rosa Lee Jones, Christine Felton, Sally B.
