Mrs. Susan Rockwell Jones of Cordele, Georgia, died Friday, June 19, 2026, at Emory Hospital in Warner Robins, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 4:30 PM in the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Fort Early Church Cemetery in Warwick, Georgia.

Everyone entering the funeral home for visitations or services is required to wear a mask and maintain social distancing.  A mask must be worn throughout the stay.  You must supply your mask.

Susan Rockwell Jones was born on June 20, 1973, in Worth County, Georgia. She was the beloved daughter of Henry Rockwell and Mae Frances Hancock Rockwell. Susan was  educated in the Worth County school system and graduated from Worth County High School.

From a young age, Susan accepted Christ into her life and   became a member of Fort Early Baptist Church in Warwick, Georgia. As she grew older, she later joined Emmanuel Baptist Church in Cordele, Georgia, where her faith continued to flourish.

Susan was a vibrant soul, known for her love of conversation and connection. She enjoyed talking on the phone and cherished her time attending church. She had a great affection for travel, particularly at night, and found joy in talking with SIRI. Susan was well known for her sense of humor, often serving as the jokester. Her favorite phrase, "HOW ABOUT THAT!", was a testament to her lively spirit.

Susan Rockwell Jones was a beacon of joy and warmth, and her legacy of love and laughter will continue to inspire all those who had the privilege of knowing her.  She transitioned on Friday, June 19, 2026, just one day shy of her 53rd birthday. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Rockwell and Mae Frances Rockwell, and her sister, Karen Waters.

Her memory is cherished by her husband, Joseph Jones, III of Cordele, Georgia; her children: Verconia Rockwell-Johns (Antonio) of Douglas, Georgia, Karen Jones and JaQuuan Jones both of Cordele, Georgia, and Jatavius Rockwell of Atlanta, Georgia; her grandchildren, Alaria Thomas, Kimberly Thomas, LaKhayla Thomas, Jatavius Rockwell, Jr., Skylar Jordan, and Kingston Spooner; her stepmother, Juanita Rockwell of Warwick, Georgia; her sister, Ashley Rockwell of Cordele, Georgia; her brother, Deacon Don White (Cynthia) of Cordele, Georgia; her aunts and uncles, Linda Felton (Reverend Willie James) of Cordele, Georgia, Dorothy Smith (Reverend Robert) of Oakfield, Georgia, Catherine Currelly of Ashburn, Georgia, Ora Lee Morris of Warwick, Georgia, Vernice Johnson (Nehemiah) of Atlanta, Georgia, Curtis Rockwell (Josie) of Leesburg, Georgia, and Earnestine Rockwell of Warwick, Georgia; her nieces and nephew, Martesea Waters and Cyriah White of Cordele, Georgia, Jasmine Waters and Camyran Waters of Alabama; her special friends, Doris Wellons Lewis and Shomaneika Sanders of Cordele, Georgia; a host of cousins, other relatives, and many sorrowing friends.
