Mrs. Sophia Latrece Smith Sutton of 428 North 5th Street, Vienna, Georgia died Friday, October 29, 2021 at the Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.
The graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the J. W. Williams Funeral Home Porte Cochere in Cordele, Georgia. The burial will follow at the Vienna City Cemetery in Vienna, Georgia. Everyone in attendance is asked to please wear a mask and to practice social distancing.
Sophia Latrece Smith Sutton was born in Americus, Georgia on September 17, 1981 to Jeanette Smith and Wendell Peterson, Jr. She also had a bonus Dad, Willie C. Bailey.
She accepted Christ and united with the Bethel Baptist Church at an early age.
Sophia received her high school diploma from Dooly County High School, Class of 2000. She continued her education at Everest University, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.
Sophia's precious memories will forever linger in the hearts and minds of her loving and devoted husband, Timothy Sutton, II of Vienna, Georgia; her dearly loved and precious sons, Rashad Griffin and Senorris Sutton of Vienna, Georgia; her beloved mother, Jeanette Smith of Vienna, Georgia; her devoted mother-in-law, Mary L. Burke of Vienna, Georgia; her devoted father-in-law, Timothy Sutton, I (Mamie) of Cordele, Georgia; one loyal and caring brother, Chamar Peterson, Sr. (Ieisha) of Byron, Georgia; four loving and caring sisters, Shanee Green (Kerry) of Americus, Georgia, Andria Blackshear (LaTravis) of Fort Valley, Georgia, Tiffany Smith (Ricky) of Athens, Georgia, and LaWanda Smith (Kendrick) of Greensboro, Georgia; her aunts, Carol Killings (Arthur), Mary Harris (Henry), and Betty Peterson all of Vienna, Georgia, Gloria Peterson of Albany, Georgia, and Thelma Martin of Warner Robins, Georgia; her uncles, Stanford Smith and Dwayne Watts of Atlanta, Georgia, Larry Lavender of Macon, Georgia, Walter Peterson and Johnny Peterson of Vienna, Georgia, Wilbert Clark (Loretta) of Vienna, Georgia, Calvin Bailey (Deborah) of Warner Robins, Georgia, Freddie Malcolm of Pelham, Georgia, Danny White of Tallahassee, Florida, and Johnny Bailey of Unadilla, Georgia; her beloved in-laws, Montreo Sutton (Rashonda) of Vienna, Georgia, Timarco Sutton and Valencia Hamilton of Cordele, Georgia; her special nieces and nephews, Kalese, Ki'Mari, Kaleb, Kerrion, Chamar Jr., and Devin; her special cousins: Nikki, Natonya, Stephanie, Jimall, Yolanda, Chris, Craig, Crystal, Johnathan, Josh, Haley, and Monica; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
