Mr. Sidney West of 5245 US Highway 41, North, Ashburn, Georgia passed away Thursday, February 13, 2025 at the Tift Regional Hospital in Tifton, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 10:00 AM in the sanctuary of the Greater Saint Luke Baptist Church in Ashburn, Georgia.  The burial will follow at Westview Memorial Gardens in Ashburn, Georgia.

The immediate family will receive family and friends beginning Monday, February 17th through Saturday, February 21st between 1:00 and 9:00 PM at the home of Claudel and Trudie Parham, 5245 US Highway 41 North, Ashburn, Georgia.

Mr. Sidney West was born September 30, 1957, in Sumter County, Georgia to Bishop Elbert and Evangelist Ruby West.

Early in life, Sidney joined the Mount Zion Church of God Apostolic, Ashburn, Georgia.  He was a member of the choir and lead his favorite song, "Put Your Time In, Pay Day's Coming Afterwhile".

Sidney moved to Orlando, Florida where he was joined in Holy Matrimony to Lynette Wilson West.  From this union they were blessed with two children.

He was employed with Howard Fertilizer for 20 years.

Sidney returned to Ashburn in 2013. Sidney loved people and had a servant heart.  He always found a way to attend as many family gatherings as possible.

Early Thursday morning, February 13, 2025, Sidney slipped away to rest at the Tift Regional Medical Center, Tifton, Georgia.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Bishop Elbert and Evangelist Ruby West, his wife, Lynette West, and his siblings, Dorothy, Matthew, and Tommy West.

He leaves to cherish his memories three children, Latoya (Margello) Foster of Casselberry, Florida, Ciara Michelle West of Orlando, Florida and Cedric Deon West of   Panama City, Florida; seven grandchildren; his brothers, Bishop Dr. Arthur (Lorene) West of Arabi, Georgia, Deacon Elbert (Brenda) West, Jr. of Cordele, Georgia, Mr. Ruby Gene (Minnie) West of Columbus, Georgia, Apostle Daniel Joseph (Towanda) West of Tallahassee, Florida; his sisters, Mrs. Barbara (Ivory) Brown of Alapaha, Georgia, Elder Trudie (Claudel) Parham of Ashburn, Georgia, Mrs. Georgia (Cory) Smith of Valdosta, Georgia, Mrs. Delois (Sammy) Clark, Mrs. Mary (Charles) Pole of Ashburn, Georgia, and Minister Victoria (Benjamin Jr.) Farrie of Jacksonville, Florida; three uncles, Mr. Hubert West of Dallas, Texas, Deacon Johnny (Annie) Simmons of Cordele, Georgia, and   Deacon James Simmons of Atlanta, Georgia; his aunts, Mrs. Bernice Williams of McDonough, Georgia and Mrs. Mamie Jackson of Albany, Georgia; a special  nephew, Adrian Tyrone Clark of Ashburn, Georgia; a very special friend and "caregiver," Mrs. Margaret Teague; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
