Ms. Shirley Ann Hartage Trice of 1007 Border Street, Americus, Georgia passed away Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held Friday, October 4, 2024 at 1:00 PM in the sanctuary of Union Tabernacle Baptist Church in Americus, Georgia.  The burial will follow at Staley Memorial Garden in Americus, Georgia.

The family asked that instead of flowers, you consider donating to the VTrice Kidney Fund. This gesture holds deep significance for the family, as it reflects one of Shirley's final wishes and honors her compassionate spirit.

Shirley Ann Trice was born to the late Ollie Mae Hartage (Knighton) and the late Aaron   Hartage Sr. on March 23, 1964, in Americus, GA. Shirley was raised by her grandmother, the late Bessie Mae Hartage of Americus, GA.

Shirley was educated in the Americus City Schools System and graduated with the Americus High School class of 1982. After graduation, she was employed by Aramark Food Services (formerly ARA Food Services), where she worked for 41 years. In 1997, she earned diplomas from South Georgia Technical College (SGTC) in Accounting and Information and Office Technology. Throughout her life she was honored several times for her commitment to excellence in hospitality and food service. Her Aramark awards include: Operations Management Champion (2000), Top Line Champion (2001), Best Team Award (2005);  Hero of the South Region (2021), Team Safety Award (2023-2024). In addition, she was recognized as a top donor to the SGTC Foundation President's Club from 2007-2024, on behalf of Aramark.

In 2000, Shirley joined Union Tabernacle Baptist Church, where she served with unwavering dedication for 24 years. Her commitment to the church's Serving Team was a testament to her selflessness, as she always ready to support the church's ministry endeavors and lend a helping hand.

Known affectionately as "Shell-Ann" by her close family, Shirley was a vibrant presence  wherever she went. Her infectious love for music and dance brought joy to everyone around her. She often brought the family together through themed parties, good food, laughter, and most importantly, love. She was an avid sports fanatic; whenever she had the time you could find her cheering for the New   England Patriots and the Los Angeles Lakers.

Her passion for giving was a central part of her that everyone she came in contact with was able to witness. In the words of one of the many people she loved, "If you went to Georgia Southwestern State University's or South Georgia Technical College's cafeteria, you were   never a motherless child or went hungry because if Ms. Shirley was there, she was your mother on campus and would make sure to feed you."

Shirley's love and devotion extended to her children, grandchildren, and god-children. She was a proud grandmother to Brandon Levi Bridges and Kimoni Jendayi Trice-Powell, and her love for them was a testament to the depth of her affection.

On Saturday, September 21, 2024, our world was unexpectedly shattered. She traded the cares of this life for a life of everlasting joy. She is preceded in death by her campion of 14 years, George Lambert Wright Jr., and her brother Aaron Hartage Jr.

Forever cherishing her life, her love, and the joy she imparted are her children Valarie Trice of Americus, GA; Corey Wright (Daphne) of Doha, Qatar; Dr. Kinyatta Trice of Atlanta, GA; and Brittny McGrady (Bernard) of Leesburg, GA.

She is also survived by her brother Norris Hartage of Americus, GA, and her niece Shaniqua West; special nieces and nephew Koreene Davis, Ashley Goodman (Lawanda), and Huron Robinson; and her godchildren Treven Floyd, Jaylan Davis, and Tiffani Goodman. In addition, her Aunts Geneva Hunt (Carl), Nettie Hartage, Grace Wilcox, and a host of sorrowing cousins, relatives, and friends also survive.
