Ms. Shanita LaShon Smothers of 310 Collier Street, Vienna, Georgia died Monday, January 15, 2024 at the Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, January 21, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Pinehurst, Georgia.

Everyone entering the funeral home for visitations or services is required to wear a mask and to practice social distancing.  A mask must be worn throughout the stay.  You must supply your own mask.

A precious gift was born to Straford Smothers and Renay Henry of Dooly County, Georgia on September 1, 1973.  They welcomed a beautiful baby girl whom they lovingly named Shanita LaShon Smothers.

As Shanita grew she learned many things along the way.  She was a beautiful light and many were touched by the radiance of her light.

On Monday, January 15, 2024 our beloved Shanita transitioned from this life.  Her parents, Straford and Renay, along with her sister, Latrice Lachel Smothers each preceded her in death.

Memories of her life will be cherished by her loving family: her aunts and uncles, Ms. Sandra Wells, Mr.   Robert Wells, and Ms. Sharee Henry of Miami, Florida, Mrs. Maxine (Willie B.) Anderson of Decatur, Georgia and Mr. Wilbert (Alfreda) Smothers; her cousins, Ms. Debra Brown of Vienna, Georgia, Mr. Michael and Mrs. Nancy Brown of Atlanta, Georgia, Mrs. Debbie and Mr. Darren Young of Vienna, Georgia, Mrs. Velma and Mr. David Daniels of Baltimore, Maryland, and Mr. Donald Brown of Cordele, Georgia; a host of other relatives and friends, to include, a devoted friend, Mrs. Mary Sutton of Vienna, Georgia.
