Ms. Seletha Diane Brown of 2316 Hwy 41, South, Cordele, Georgia died Monday, July 10, 2023 at her residence.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 2:30 PM in the sanctuary of the Odom Grove Baptist Church in Cordele, Georgia. The burial will follow at the Westview Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia.
Everyone in attendance is asked to please wear a mask and to practice social distancing.
On Monday, July 10, 2023, Seletha's earthly life came to a peaceful end. Only to begin a new life in God's kingdom.
Her earthly journey began February 4, 1958 in Cordele, Georgia. She was born to Burnell B. Welborn and the late John Henry Ford, Sr. She was reared by her grandmother, Dolzie Lawrence Brown, who precedes her in death.
She received her early years of education in the Crisp County School System. After moving to Albany, Georgia, she received most of her high school education at Dougherty High School. She returned to Cordele and completed her high school education graduating with the Class of 1976.
At an early she joined the Odum Grove Baptist Church. After moving to several cities, she returned home from Orlando, Florida in 2005. She reconnected with her Odum Grove Baptist Church family and served until ill health fell upon her.
Along with her father and grandmother, Seletha was preceded in death by her siblings, Eddie Ford, Lutricious Hill and Anthony Ford.
Cherished memories of her life will live on in the hearts of her loving mother, Mother Burnell Welborn of Cordele, Georgia; two sisters, a very devoted sister, Debra and her husband, Victor Oluwo of Jacksonville, Florida and Darlene Ford of Cordele, Georgia; three brothers, Michael Ford of Atlanta, Georgia, Bernard (Stephanie) Ford of Orlando, Florida, and John (Arnine) Ford, Jr. of Connecticut; a special and devoted uncle, Deacon Frank (Elizabeth) Brown of Cordele, Georgia; two caring aunts, Rosa Ford and Mary Pounds both of Cordele, Georgia; her loving cousins, Caleb (Janice) Brown, III of Linden, New Jersey, Angela (Deacon Obie) Patrick, and Charleston Glenn Brown all of Douglasville, Georgia, Betty (George) Dudley of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, Sherry (Deacon Dennis) Harris of Albany, Georgia, Gwendolyn (John) Atkins of Riverdale, Georgia, Evelyn (Deacon John) Wiggins of Cordele, Georgia, Geraldine Brown of Warner Robins, Georgia, Eldridge Byrom of Atlanta, Georgia, Crystal (Erick) Feagen of Port Orange, Florida, Franco Brown of Cordele, Georgia, Minister Doris Allen of Fairburn, Georgia, and Carol Battle of Norcross, Georgia; a very special friend, Keiska Jones; two devoted cousins, Helen (Eugene) Ford and Brenda (Sam) Oliver; a host of other cousins, loving family and many, many friends.
