Mrs. Sarah Pearl Brown Roundtree of 1116 Blackshear Road, Cordele, Georgia died Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at her residence.

The funeral service will be held Friday, May 3, 2024 at 12:00 Noon in the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Bethel Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia.

Everyone entering the funeral home for visitations or services is required to wear a mask and to practice social distancing.  A mask must be worn throughout the stay.  You must supply your own mask.

Mother Sarah Pearl Brown Roundtree was born March 30, 1942 in Crisp County, Georgia.  She was the daughter of the late Mr. O. C. Brown and the late Mrs. Mattie Bell Edwards Brown.

She received her education at the Odum Grove School in Raines, Georgia.  Early in her life she accepted the Lord, Jesus Christ and was baptized at the Zion Hope Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Clark.  She later joined the Shady Grove Baptist Church where she served until her health began to fail.

Mother Roundtree was a born caretaker.  She was a woman who loved family, especially her children and grandchildren.  It wasn't very often that she would be seen without her daughter, her "sidekick," Linda Faye whom she lovingly called "Duke."  She will forever be remembered for her love, her huge smile, her collard greens and her good ole' sweet potato pies.

On Wednesday, April 24, 2024 she peacefully left this world.  Her husband, Mr. Jimmy Lee Roundtree and her son, Mr. Willie Brown, precede her in death.  Her siblings, Mr. Joe Guess, Mrs. Ruby Smith, Mr. Frank Brown, Mrs. Ruthie Doster, Mr. Olive Brown, Mrs. Jack McNish, Mr. James O. Brown, Mrs. Lucille Hargrove, Mr. Roosevelt Brown, Mrs. Mildred Grant, Mr. Authur Brown, Mr. Freddie Brown, Mr. Rayfield Brown, and Mrs. Minnie Robinson.

Forever remembering her life's journey, she leaves her loving and devoted children, Mr. Jimmy Lee Roundtree, Mrs. Lynndell (Willie King) Westbrook, Ms. Linda Roundtree, and Mr. Sammie (Brittany) Roundtree of Cordele, Georgia; nine loving grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; her aunt, Mrs. Annie Lee Roundtree of Belle Glade, Florida; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends, to include, Ms. Burnell Fenn, Mrs. Martha R.  Westbrook, Mrs. Betty Green, Mr. Ronnie & Mrs. Susan McKinney and Mr. Lonnie & Mrs. Sandra McKinney.
