Mrs. Sandra Faye Freeman Green of 303 West 14th Avenue died Monday, July 29, 2024, at her residence.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, August 8, 2024, at 12:00 Noon in the sanctuary of the Mt. Zion First African Baptist Church in Cordele, Georgia. The burial will follow at the Bethel Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia.
On a beautiful summer day, the late General Jackson and the Violet Mae Freeman Wells, welcomed their daughter to this world. Given the name, Sandra Faye, she was born Friday, August 7, 1957 in Bibb County, Georgia.
She received her education from the public school system. She was a graduate of Crisp County High School.
Early in her life she was introduced to the Lord, Jesus Christ. She accepted him and became a faithful member of the Mount Zion First African Baptist Church. Her love for Christ and his people was evident as she served always willing to do what she could. A Deaconess, Secretary of the Sunday School, and member of the Women's Mission, and choir, Sandra never waivered in her commitment to serve.
Sandra loved her family and enjoyed many special moments with them. She especially enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren.
On Monday, July 29, 2024, the final chapter of her book of life was penned. Along with parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Green, Jr.; her children, Angelo Bernard Green and Kimica Latasha Green; her siblings, Stanford Wayne Freeman, Johanna Jackson and Antonio B. Jackson.
Her journey will be cherished by her faithful companion, Charles Colbert of Cordele, Georgia; loving and devoted children, Diqurita Green and Christopher Green both of Cordele, Georgia; her loving grandchildren, Alexandria Green, Jamie White, Jr., Deon White, Vanessa White, Travis Green, Christopher Green, Jr.; eight great grandchildren; her beloved siblings, Joy Jackson of Brooklyn, New York, Kecia Oatis of Harlem, New York, and Angelo (Sharon) Jackson of Baltimore, Maryland; her aunts and uncles, Banjamin (Janice) Yow and Andrew Yow both of Cordele, Georgia, and Jerry (Dorothy) Jackson of Atlanta, Georgia; her special nephew and niece, Maurice Kellogg and Shanterria Kellogg both of Cordele, Georgia; a host of cousins, to include a special cousin, Valeria King of Cordele, Georgia; a host other relatives and many sorrowing friends, to include her sister/friend, Jane Everett of Virginia, Madge Outlaw, Bertha Lucas, Barbara Bryant, Gwen Gaskin, and Annette Stembridge all of Cordele, Georgia.
