Obituary

Mrs. Ruby Jean Snipes of 609 East 4th Avenue, Cordele, Georgia passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at the Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Cordele, Georgia.  The burial will follow at Vienna City Cemetery in Vienna, Georgia.

Ruby Jean Hardy Snipes, daughter of James and Izona Davis Hardy, was born on June 27, 1957, in Dooly County, Georgia. She was   educated in the public schools of Dooly County, where she attended Dooly County High School. Her life was a testament to her unwavering love and devotion to her family, friends, and faith.

Ruby Jean was a devoted wife, standing by her husband, Henry Snipes Jr., with loyalty, kindness, and a gentle spirit. Her love for her family was   unwavering, and she poured her heart into nurturing, guiding, and supporting each member with patience and wisdom. Her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were the greatest recipients of her boundless love and care.

As a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Ruby Jean was a devoted servant of Jehovah. She spent countless hours in the field  ministry, sharing the good news of God's kingdom with all who would  listen. Her passion for the truth was evident in every conversation and scripture she shared, and in the way she lived her life—with kindness, humility, and unshakable faith. She found joy in studying the Bible,  meditating on Jehovah's promises, and encouraging others to draw closer to Him.

Beyond her spiritual devotion, Ruby Jean was a beacon of love and warmth to her family and friends. She cherished her loved ones deeply, always offering a listening ear, a helping hand, and words of wisdom   rooted in Jehovah's word. Her kindness, generosity, and gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.

Though she is no longer with us, we take comfort in Jehovah's promise of the resurrection (John 5:28, 29) and look forward to the day when we will see her again on a paradise earth, free from pain and sorrow. Until then, we will hold her memory close, honoring her by continuing in the faith she so deeply cherished.

Ruby Jean leaves behind her loving husband, Henry Snipes, Jr. of Cordele, Georgia; her children, Shantario (Cynthia) Hardy of Seattle, Washington, Quentin Snipes of Cordele, Georgia, Brittney (Rodrique) Taylor of Tifton, Georgia, Jaboris (Kimberly) Snipes of Cordele, Georgia, Charisma (Willie) Hardrick of Fort Valley, Georgia, Daphne (Andre) Lumpkin of Americus, Georgia, Jeffery Snipes of Texas, Henry Snipes, III and Tony (Sabrina) Snipes of Americus, Georgia; 31 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; grandchildren, her loving sisters, Laverne Anderson of Vienna, Georgia and Renea (Simpson) Hardy of Cordele, Georgia; her beloved brother, Raymond Davis of Savannah, Georgia; a host of nieces and nephews, to include, Fernado Anderson of Seattle, Washington and Tabatha Carter of Vienna, Georgia; a host of cousins, and many friends, to include her special friends, John & Carolyn Vickers, Derrick & Dana Ivory, Bernice Lester, Diane Greene, Carolyn Peacock, Velma Brown Daniels, William & Phyllis Bass, and Paul & Johnnie Boone.

Ruby Jean Hardy Snipes was a faithful servant, devoted wife, loving  mother, and cherished friend. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten. As Romans 14:8 reminds us, "For if we live, we live to Jehovah, and if we die, we die to Jehovah. So both if we live and if we die, we belong to Jehovah."

Just like Jesus's friend Lazarus, our beloved Ruby Jean went to sleep on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and faith.
