Mr. Roy Lee Dawson of 309 West 28th Avenue, Cordele, Georgia died Monday, November 20, 2023 at the Cordele Health and Rehabilitation Center in Cordele, Georgia.

The funeral service will held Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 10:00 a.m., in the chapel of J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele Georgia. The burial will follow at Vienna City Cemetery in Vienna Georgia.

Mr. Roy Lee Dawson, the son of Mr. Willie James Dawson, Sr. and Mrs. Jennie Lee Hutchinson Dawson, was born January 15, 1962.  He was born in Vienna, Dooly County, Georgia.

He confessed hope in Christ and united with the Bethel Baptist Church in Vienna, Georgia.

There were many things Roy enjoyed doing.  He especially enjoyed eating, watching football and basketball and playing cards.  He also enjoyed being outside and doing yard work.

Moments spent with his children and other family members was also meant so much to him.  Visits from his friend, Ms. Sue, also brightened his day.

On Monday, November 20, 2023 he transitioned from this life.  He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Mr. Willie Dawson, Jr., Mrs. Minnie Pearl Holmes, Mrs. Willie Mae Dawson Daniels, and Mrs. Annie Marie Dawson Nicey.

Cherished memories are left to his loving family:  his children, Ms.  Jasmine Dawson and Mr. Travis Dawson (Nydra) of Vienna, Georgia, Mr. Tytwarn Dawson (Vikki) of Jacksonville, Florida, Ms. Shaveka Dawson of South Carolina, Mr. Tyrik Dawson of Vienna, Georgia and Ms. Anaria Rasheed of Jacksonville, Florida; his grandchildren, Tydarrious Dawson, Kamden Dawson, Ca'mya Dawson, Te'irra Dawson, Dylan Dawson, Demarion Arrington and Ka'Mari Milhouse; one great grandchild; his sisters, Ms. Norma Jean Hicks of Cordele, Georgia, Ms. Jennie Lee Hampton of Covington, Georgia and Ms. Annie Lee Thomas of Hackensack, New Jersey; his brothers, Mr. Ricky Dawson, Mr. Joe Dennis Dawson and Mr. David Hutchinson all of  Vienna, Georgia; his brothers-in-law, Deacon Frankie Daniels and Mr. Robert Nicey; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends, to include, Ms. Barbara Freeman, Mr.  Joseph Mainor, and Ms. Rosalind Porter.
