United States Navy Veteran, Mr. Romano Roberson of 1923 Whitehall Forrest Court, Decatur, Georgia died Sunday, January 30, 2022 at his residence.
The funeral service, with military honors, will be held Sunday, February 6, 2022 at 3:30 PM at the J. W. Williams Funeral Home Porte Cochere in Cordele, Georgia. The burial will follow at the Vienna City Cemetery in Vienna, Georgia. Everyone in attendance is asked to please wear a mask and to practice social distancing.
The family is very appreciative of all gestures of kindness and sympathy shown to them. Because of COVID-19, they will not be receiving anyone at the family home.
Romano Roberson was born May 6, 1954 to the late Mulford James Roberson, Sr. and Bettye Jean Roberson in Cordele, Crisp County, Georgia.
Romano was educated in the public school system and earned his high school diploma from Crisp County High School in 1972. He furthered his education and studied Biology at the University of West Georgia. He demonstrated love for his country by enlisting in the United States Navy.
Romano accepted Christ and united with the Bethel C. M. E. Church in Cordele, Georgia at an early age.
Romano was employed as Supervisor for the Hematology Department at Winn Army Community Veterans Hospital in Fort Stewart, Georgia before moving to Atlanta, Georgia.
Romano enjoyed spending time with friends and exhibited brotherhood by becoming a member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. He had a love for music, fishing and hunting.
On Sunday, January 30, 2022, God came and quietly took him by the hand. He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving mother, Bettye Roberson, Cordele, Georgia; three children, Joseph Richard Roberson, Orlando, Florida, Adrienne Beverly Roberson (Johnnie Green), Hinesville, Georgia and Terria Jones, Fairburn, Georgia; one granddaughter, Veronica; two brothers, Mulford Roberson Jr. (Valerie), Vienna, Georgia and Ricky Roberson (Melba), Lithonia, Georgia; two aunts, Loree Hulks, Detroit, Michigan and Annie Roberson, St. Petersburg, Florida; two uncles, Jerry Roberson, St. Petersburg, Florida and Ulysses Marshall (Brenda), Bowie, Maryland; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and many sorrowing friends.
