United States Army Veteran, Mr. Rodger Fields of 154 East 4th Street, Arabi, Georgia passed away Monday, December 23, 2024, at his residence.
The funeral service will be held Sunday, December 29, 2024, at 4:00 PM in the sanctuary of the Little Rock Baptist Church in Arabi, Georgia. The burial, with military honors, will follow at the Bethel Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia.
Rodger Fields was born February 24, 1960, in Turner County, Georgia passed away on December 23, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of service, love, and resilience. A proud veteran of the United States Army, Rodger dedicated more than 20 years to serving his country, embodying courage, discipline, and a deep sense of duty.
Born to Lucy Fields and Charlie Fields, Sr., Rodger grew up in a close-knit family alongside his sister, Kay Brown, and brothers, Charlie, Hural, Anthony, and David Fields. He cherished the values instilled in him by his parents, which carried him through a lifetime of challenges and triumphs
Rodger was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bridget Fields, and his son, Rodger Lee Fields. Despite these profound losses, he remained a father to his daughters, Cassandra Marie Fields-Reiss, Ayala Fields, and Naylia Ashley. His love for them was unwavering and he took great pride in their accomplishments.
To those who knew him, Rodger was a man of compassion, always quick with a story, a word of encouragement, or a helping hand. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, from sharing meals with loved ones to reflecting on his years of service.
Rodger's legacy is one of honor, devotion, and enduring love. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family: his children, Rodger Lee Fields of Newburgh, New York, Cassandra Marie Reiss of Charlotte, North Carolina, Donte Fields of Texas, Ayela Fields and Naylie Ashley both of Cordele, Georgia; one grandchild; his sister, Kay Fields Brown (Walter) of Arabi, Georgia; his brothers, Charlie Fields, Jr. (Mary) and Hural Fields (Irene) both of Cordele, Georgia, Anthony Fields (Sonya) of Thomasville, Georgia, and David Fields of Arabi, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, to include, Deborah Walker and Kenneth Styles both of Arabi, Georgia, Jamal Fields and Kelia Thomas both of Cordele, Georgia; a host of other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
Rest in peace, Rodger Fields. Your duty is done, and your impact will never be forgotten.
