Mr. Roderick Caevon Bridges, Sr. of 69 Odessa Road, Pitts, Georgia died Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at his residence.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 10:00 AM in the sanctuary of the Gethsemane Baptist Church in Cordele, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Westview Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia.

Everyone in attendance is asked to please wear a mask and to practice social distancing.

Roderick Caevon Bridges, Sr. was born November 22, 1972 in Cordele, Crisp County, Georgia.  He was born to Yvonne Bridges Cannady and the late Willie James Cannady.

Roderick was educated in the public schools of Crisp County.  He was a proud 1991 graduate of Crisp County High School.

As a child he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and united with the Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church.

His love for big trucks, led him to truck driving school.  He enjoyed driving.  His most recent employment was with  Shelton Trucking Company.

He was united in holy matrimony to the former Nicole Lee Embry.  They shared their lives together until his passing on Wednesday, August 2, 2023.

His life will forever be remembered by his loving and devoted wife, Nicole Embry Bridges of Pitts, Georgia; his loving children, Roderick C. Bridges, Jr. and Aliyah Lanier of Cordele, Georgia, Junior McCormick and Micah Griffin of Seville,  Georgia; eight grandchildren; his loving and caring mother, Yvonne B. Cannady of Cordele, Georgia; his loving sisters, Kimberly Cannady (Vidal) Colson of Cordele, Georgia and Yemica Jackson of Cordele, Georgia; his beloved brother, Michael (Shenita) Bridges of Arlington, Texas; his uncles, Lewis Cannady of Cordele, Georgia, Tommy Cannady, Jr. of Albany, Georgia and Anthony Bridges of Atlanta, Georgia; his parents- in-law, RT and Nancy Hardy of Seville, Georgia; one sister-in-law; one brother-in-law; his extended family, Laquacus, Aubrey, Adrian, Cedrick Virgil, Andrea and Reginald; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends, to include his special friends who, along with RT Hardy, were so devoted to him throughout his battle with cancer, Rico,   Maurice, and Kelvin.
