Ms. Robin Lynne Appling of Danville, Virginia died Saturday, January 13, 2024 at  Sovah Health in Danville, Virginia.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia.

Everyone entering the funeral home for visitations or services is required to wear a mask and to practice social distancing.  A mask must be worn throughout the stay.  You must supply your own mask.

Mr. George Appling, Sr. and Mrs. Louise Lowe Appling welcomed a beautiful baby girl on June 24, 1961.   Born in Cordele, Georgia, she was lovingly given the name, Robin Lynne.

Educated in the public schools of Crisp County, she was a 1981 graduate of Crisp County High School.  She later received certification as a Nurse's Aide.  She was employed at The Institutes in Malvern, Pennsylvania.  Employed for 18 years, she was well  respected and loved by her co-workers and clients.

Robin attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania.  She later joined the Bethel Baptist Church in Phoenixville.

Always wanting to be busy and active, Robin was YMCA member.  She loved family and especially loved taking care of everybody's children. She loved cooking, baking, traveling, and gardening.

A very sociable individual, she always wore a smile.  One of her  favorite places to be was at the beach.

On Saturday, January 13, 2024, she transitioned from this life.  While she will be missed by all who loved her, it is comforting to know that she is at peace with the Savior and her parents and other family members who have gone on.

Many wonderful memories are left to her loving and devoted daughter, Ms. Megan Appling-Lester of Danville, Virginia; two special children of her "heart", Ryan (Michelle) Pesin and Justin (Jill) Pesin of Brynmawr, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren; her loving sisters, Rosalind (Richard) Mason of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Alisa Appling of Warner Robins, Georgia; her brothers, Capers (Karen) Shanks of Jonesboro, Georgia, Larry (Maliza) Shanks of Jacksonville, Florida, Marvin Shanks of  Cordele, Georgia, her twin, George "Flint" (Sharon) Appling, Jr. of Riverdale, Georgia, and Gary (Evelyn) Appling of Cordele, Georgia; her aunts and uncles, Marvin (Tempie) Lowe of Pompano Beach, Florida, Jerry Lowe of Cordele, Georgia, James (Maxie) Lowe of Pompano Beach, Florida, Nathaniel (Magnolia) Lowe of Pompano Beach, Florida, Dorothy (Gus) Williams of Cordele, Georgia, and Jeanette (Eddie) Morgan of Cordele, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins as well as many sorrowing friends, to include her best friend and partner, Richard Devin Lester.
