Mr. Robert Ford of 830 First Street, Unadilla, Georgia, died Friday, August 15, 2025, at his residence.
The memorial service will be held Thursday, August 21, 2025, at 5:00 PM in the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia.
Robert Ford was born on April 4, 1954, in Dooly County, Georgia, to Ervin Ford and Carrie Lee Ford. Growing up in a loving family, Robert received his education through the Dooly County Public School System. Early in life, he became a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church in Henderson, Georgia, where he nurtured his faith and built lasting connections.
Robert was a member of the Community Men's Club, where he enjoyed spending time with friends. His love for the outdoors was evident in his hobbies, which included fishing, trucking, and hunting. Robert was also an avid sports fan, passionately supporting his favorite teams, the Atlanta Falcons and the Georgia Bulldogs.
Cooking, particularly on the grill and frying fish, was another one of Robert's cherished pastimes. He delighted in sharing meals with family and friends, creating delicious memories around the dinner table.
Robert transitioned peacefully on August 15, 2025, at his residence. His parents, Ervin and Carrie, along with his siblings, Ethel Lawson, Mary Middlebrooks, Clarence Ford, Calvin Ford, and Ervin Ford, Jr., each preceded him in death.
Robert Ford's life was marked by love, laughter, and a deep dedication to his family and community. His memory lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He survived by his loving daughters, Canetra Ford of Unadilla, Georgia, and Reatrina (Kevin) Lewis of Warner Robins, Georgia; his adored grandchildren, Yasmeen McKnight, Issah Lewis, and Kevin Lewis, III; his great-granddaughter, Lauren Belizaire; his sisters, Christine (Jack) Lester of Unadilla, Georgia, Ann (David) Walker of Stamford, Connecticut, Lilli Mae Taylor, and Yvonne Ford, both of Unadilla, Georgia; his brother, Willie Ford of Unadilla, Georgia; his aunt, Rose Bryant of Perry, Georgia, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many sorrowing friends.
