Mr. Robert Lee Berry of 209 Tom Hall Circle, Americus, Georgia died Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at the Phoebe-Sumter Medical Center in Americus, Georgia.

The graveside funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at 1:00 PM at the Lebanon Cemetery in Plains, Georgia.  Everyone in attendance is asked to please wear a mask and to practice social distancing.

Mr. Robert Lee Berry was born September 21, 1957 in Sumter County, Georgia to Charlene Berry Merritt and the late Mr. Willie Golden. At an early age, he gave his life to Jesus and was baptized at Antioch Baptist Church in Plains, Georgia. On Wednesday, September 21, 2022 he departed this earth to be with his Savior.

Robert attended the Sumter County School System in Americus, Georgia and for several years worked in the maintenance department at Magnolia Manor and Magnolia Packing Company in Americus, Georgia.

Robert was a devoted friend who loved spending time with his friends, and family.

He leaves to cherish his memory a loving mother, a devoted sister, Betty Peterson, a wife, Annie Mann, two stepdaughters, Valene Forrest of Atlanta, Georgia and Carissa Mann of Americus, Georgia, seven grandchildren, Michelle (Legacy) Boyce, Jayia (Riyanna) Boyce, A'zariah, Amerrion, Ja'corian, Jakavius, and Brayden; three brothers, Lawrence Merritt (Brenda), Bonny Merritt (Jackie) all of Americus, Georgia and Henry Merritt of Lake Worth, Florida; six sisters, Jeanette Walker,  Ruby Merritt, and Priscilla Merritt all of Americus, Georgia, Harriet Cajuste (Charlie) of Boynton Beach, Florida, Sharon Merritt and Janet Merritt-Poitier of Lake Worth, Florida; five  aunts, Johnnie Mae Merritt and Julia Hayes (Edward) of Cobb, Georgia, Gloria Beckham (Jerry) of Atlanta, Georgia, and   Willie Mae Gamble of Forest Park, Georgia and Eddie Rhea Golden of Americus, Georgia; one uncle, Clifford Merritt of Americus, Georgia; an abundance of cousins, nieces, grandchildren, nephews, and special friends, Johnny Merritt, Donnie and David Raven, Ella Rhea Greene, Earl Harper, and John Henry Lockhart who are going to miss him dearly.
