The Reverend J. Willie Daniels, Jr. of 424 Pinecrest Drive, Vienna, Georgia died Friday, August 12, 2022 at his residence.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, August 21, 2022 at 1:00 PM in A. S. Clark Auditorium on the campus of the M. D. Whitest Medical Institute in Cordele, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Vienna City Cemetery in Vienna, Georgia.  Everyone in attendance is asked to please wear a mask and to practice social distancing.

The Lord in His infinite wisdom blessed the lives of the late Mr. J. Willie Daniels, Sr. and Ms. Verdell Burden with the birth of a son on March 13, 1951.  J. Willie Daniels, Jr. was born in Dooly County, Georgia.

Raised in the home of his father and stepmother, Mrs. Hattie Mae Daniels, he was introduced to the Lord at an early age when he united with the St. Paul Baptist Church.  He later united with the Lebanna Baptist Church where he was ordained as a Deacon.  Accepting his call to preach God's word, he became a member of the Agape' Baptist Church.

The seeds of education were planted in his mind early as a student in the Dooly County School System.  He was a proud 1970 graduate of the Vienna High and Industrial School.  He later earned a Marketing Management Diploma from South Georgia Technical College.

Reverend Daniels committed himself to the service of the Lord.  He willingly gave of himself to help the people of God.  Along with his    commitment to the Lord, he possessed a willingness to serve the people of his community.  He was an active member of the NAACP where he served in many capacities over the years.  He also served as President and Treasurer of the Class of 1970.

On Friday, August 12, 2022 he heard a voice we could not hear and peacefully left this earthly life for an everlasting life.  Along with his  parents, he is preceded in death by his children, Ms. Agoree Turner and Mr. Victor Daniels and his siblings, Mr. Calvin Daniels, Ms. Carrie B. Brown, Mrs. Addie Lou Jones, Mrs. Willie Mae Henry, and Mr. Marline Davis.

Reflecting upon his life, he leaves, his loving and devoted wife, Reverend Joyce Ann Daniels of Vienna, Georgia; a loving stepdaughter, Ms. Tanika King of Cordele, Georgia; beloved children he reared, Mr. Gerald Turner (Renay) of Oceanside, California, Ms. Aurelia Oliver, Mr. Chadrick Lewis, and Mr. Demetrice Carter all of Vienna, Georgia; 12 grandchildren, two of whom he raised, Symone Brown of Warner Robins, Georgia and Taron Henton of Albany, Georgia; one great grandchild; his beloved siblings, Mr. James (Joyce) Davis of West Park, Florida, Mr. Burke Kenchons, Mrs. Wytina (Charlie) Jackson, and Ms. Lawanda Faye Williams all of Vienna, Georgia, Mr. Russell (Ozye Mae) Daniels, Mrs. Margaret (Melvin) Redding, Mr. Thad (Norma) Daniels, and Mr. Antonio Daniels all of Cordele, Georgia, Mr. Alvin Daniels of Valdosta, Georgia, Ms. Ruthie Daniels of  Atlanta, Georgia, and Ms. Donna Faye Thompson of South Carolina;  his aunts, Mrs. Rose Mae Lovette and Mrs. Ruth Daniels both of Florida; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Dorothy S. King of Cordele, Georgia; his sisters-in-law, Ms. Dorothy J. King, Minister Brenda (Charles) Jones, and Mrs. Rosie (Bennie) Howard all of Cordele, Georgia; his brothers-in-law, Mr. Charlie (Debra) King of Perry, Georgia, Mr. Jerome (Brenda) King of Las Vegas, Nevada, Mr. Tony (Michelle) King of Cordele, Georgia, Mr. Bernard (Minister Kassandra) King of Warner Robins, Georgia, and Mr. Randy (Martha) King of Atlanta, Georgia; a host of  nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends, to include, Brother Lonnie Anderson, Brother Albert King, and Brother Willie Fields all of Vienna, Georgia, Brother Otis Joseph of Warner Robins, Georgia, Brother Wilbert Smothers of Montezuma, Georgia, and Reverend Woody Burnam of Cordele, Georgia.
