Mr. Reginald Bernard "Redd" Johnson of 159 Charlie Lee Circle, Cordele, Georgia, died Sunday, August 3, 2025, at the Piedmont Atlanta Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, August 10, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the J. W. Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Cordele, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Bethel Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia.

Everyone entering the funeral home for visitations or services must wear a mask and practice social distancing.  A mask must be worn throughout the stay.  You must supply your mask.

Reginald Johnson, affectionately known as "Redd" by those who knew and loved him, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2025, at the age of 64. Born on February 20, 1961, in Cordele, Georgia, Redd lived a life defined by love, loyalty, craftsmanship, and quiet strength.

He was the devoted husband of Angela Johnson, with whom he shared an extraordinary 42 years of marriage. Their union was a shining example of love, faith, and commitment—built on trust, laughter, and an unshakable bond.

Redd was a proud father to two sons, Trae and Keon, who carry  forward his values, work ethic, and loving spirit. He was also a cherished grandfather to five grandchildren, who brought him immense joy. He adored being "Granddad" and filled that role with warmth, wisdom, and pride.

A natural problem-solver with gifted hands, Redd was known as "Mr. Fix It"—a master electrician whose skills were respected and relied upon by many. Whether wiring a home, fixing something broken, or lending a hand to a neighbor, Redd's steady presence and generous heart made him a cornerstone of his community and family.

A true Georgia native at heart, Redd was a loyal sports fan through and through. He passionately rooted for the Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Falcons, and Atlanta Braves, and game days were often filled with his running commentary, loud cheers, and unwavering pride for his home-state teams.

Redd will be remembered for his calm demeanor, strong sense of duty, and the deep love he had for his family and friends. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the homes he lit up, and the people who were lucky enough to know him.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered—always by his loving wife, Angela Johnson of Cordele, Georgia; his devoted sons, Trae Johnson (Brooke) of Charlotte, North Carolina and Keon Johnson (Sirrayna) of Cordele, Georgia; his adored grandchildren, D'Juan Johnson, Bryce Johnson, Bellamy Johnson Ke'ya Rae  Johnson, and Kenady James; his loving mother, Carry Johnson Brooks of Cordele, Georgia; his sisters, Cynthia Johnson (David) and Ann Brooks both of Cordele, Georgia, Velencia Brooks of Savannah, Georgia; his caring brother, Oscar Brooks, Jr. of Cordele, Georgia; his aunts and uncles, Inez Johnson of Vienna, Georgia, Maleta Jackson, Geraldine Putman (Charles), Charlie Ross, Sr. and Willie James Shorter (Charlene) all of Cordele, Georgia; his father-in-law, Albert Barthell, Jr. of Cordele, Georgia; his brother-in-law,  Calvin Barthell of Cordele, Georgia; his nieces and nephews, Kierreyonna Brooks, Tora Johnson, Audrea Johnson, and Shemeeka Johnson; a host of cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.

Redd is preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Brooks; his grandparents, Beulah Grant and Frank Peterson; and his uncle, Henry Johnson.
