Mr. Raymond Jerome Lane of 233 Kennedy Avenue, Ashburn, Georgia died Sunday, August 4, 2024 in Tifton, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, August 11, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the sanctuary of the Greater St. Luke Baptist Church in Ashburn, Georgia.  The burial will follow at Westview Memorial Garden in Ashburn, Georgia.

Raymond Jerome Lane was born to Willie Bell  Sumler and West Lane, Jr. on August 22, 1960.

Raymond was a very hard worker.  He was known for wearing many hats in his community.

Raymond graduated from Turner County High School in 1980.  Football was his favorite sport.

Raymond took an angel by the hand on August 4, 2024 in Tifton, Georgia.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his children, Jalisa Lane and Raymond Lane, Jr.; and his siblings, Jeorline Daniels and     Walter McElroy.

Raymond leaves cherished memories to his loving children, Trimesha Buckholts (Bernard) of Tifton, Georgia, Antonio Lane (Karen) of Ashburn, Georgia, and Xavier Lane of Ashburn, Georgia; eight grandchildren, Brianna Gipson, Brady Gipson,   Braxton Gipson, Amiyah Buckholts, Braylon Buckholts, Tyree Lane, China Lane, and Jalias Rivers; his great grandchildren, Avaa Graydon, Kashmir  Gipson, Namari Bridges, and Jacari Teague; his beloved siblings, Lorene West (Arthur) of Arabi, Georgia, Johnny Ferguson of West Palm Beach, Florida, Frank Daniels (Bernice) of Albany, Georgia, Charlie Mae Sumler of Griffin, Georgia, and Barbara Lundy of Dothan, Alabama; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends, to include his devoted neighbors, Lucille Grimes and Linda Miller.
