Mr. Omar Dominique Dennard of 2337 Culpepper Road, Cordele, Georgia, died Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at his residence.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2026 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia. The burial will follow at the Gum Creek Church Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia.
Everyone entering the funeral home for visitations or services is required to wear a mask and maintain social distancing. A mask must be worn throughout the stay. You must supply your mask.
Omar Dominique Dennard, affectionately known as "Lil Body," was born on November 24, 1984, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Samuel R. Dennard and Iris M. Ragland. A cherished member of his community, Omar was celebrated for his warm smile, friendly nature, and love for life.
Omar grew up in Cordele, Georgia, where he attended the public schools of Crisp County. He continued his education at Crisp County High School and later earned his GED from Gateway College in Wisconsin. Omar's pursuit of knowledge led him to South Georgia Technical College (SGTC), where he obtained a degree in medical assisting. Known for his kindness, Omar had a natural ability to make friends wherever he went.
A member of Greater Gum Creek Baptist Church, Omar reaffirmed his spiritual beliefs by praying the prayer of salvation. This act demonstrated his continued dedication to his spiritual life and showed the depth of his faith.
Omar had a passion for playing cards and often gathered with friends and family to enjoy these games. He was also fond of fishing and was an avid football fan, enthusiastically supporting his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys.
Omar's family was the cornerstone of his life. He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Dennard; brother, Prindre; brother-in-law, Brandon; grandmothers, Rosebud Lawson and Augulla Georgia; grandfather, GB Georgia; sister, Trenda Patrick; cousins, Cason Lucas and Prince George; and great aunt, Marie Hamilton.
Omar passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, leaving a lasting legacy of joy and warmth. His memory will be cherished by those who knew him, and his spirit will continue to inspire his loved ones.
Memories of his life will forever be remembered by his wife, Nakeisha Dennard, and their children, Omar Khamani Dennard, Omar Khalumanidi Dennard, and Taraji Irie Dennard, all of Cordele, Georgia; his mother, Iris M. Ragland (Thomas) of Cordele, Georgia; his brother, Samuel D. Dennard (Barronica) of Cordele, Georgia; his parents-in-law, Linda and Anthony Pickens of Cordele, Georgia; his aunts, Doreen George, Alicia McKissick, Deborah Bashir, Peggy Anderson, Evelyn Dennard, and Marion Dennard, all of Atlanta, Georgia; two very devoted cousins, Kurtavious Smith and Kierro Owens; a special cousin, Norma (Bill) Solomon of Cordele, Georgia; other beloved cousins, Denise Dennard of Centerville, Georgia, Lavetta (Zack) Fields of Vienna, Georgia, Valerie (Reverend Kenneth) Tukes of Bonaire, Georgia, Marshanda (John) Holmes of Ashburn, Georgia, and Malbylon Hamilton of Cordele, Georgia; many friends to include, Larry Blount, Laquince James, Derrick Paul, James Jackson, as well as the 17th Avenue Crew.
