Ms. Myrtice Mitchell gracefully made her earthly presence on November 6, 1956 when she was born to the parentage of Mary Warren Mitchell and Charles Bell.  She was the pride and joy at home of her only sister, JoAnn and her brothers, Norman, Robert, Sr., and Charles.  As a beautiful and social butterfly, she was  educated in the Macon County School System and was a 1974 graduate of Macon County High School in Montezuma, Georgia.

Her eagerness for making friends and helping others was evident through her employment for 28 years with Kellwood and Bibb Manufacturing Company in Fort Valley, Georgia.  She later became an employee of Byron Elementary School where she was loved by all of the faculty, staff and students who knew her.  They loved  her smiling face and the jokes she told as she graced the halls.

Myrtice was known for her energetic and outgoing spirit, her ability to make anyone laugh as well as her stylish outfits and matching shoes.  They all displayed her radiant personality and ability to be a friend and make friends.

She was preceded in death by her companion of 42 years, Lawrence McGhee, Sr.; a brother, A. J. Mitchell, and a granddaughter, Jaslyn Maryah.

The death angels whispered softly into Myrtice's ears on August 31, 2022.  She peacefully transitioned at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, Georgia.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories one daughter, Nikki McGhee of Byron, Georgia; two sons, Lawrence (Terry) McGhee, Jr. of Marshallville, Georgia, and Carlos Hankerson of Oglethorpe, Georgia; a very devoted sister, JoAnn Hawk of Orlando, Florida; three brothers, Norman Warren (Barbara) of Warner Robins, Georgia, Charles Mitchell of Perry, Georgia, and Robert Buckner, Sr. of Marshallville, Georgia; 10 grandchildren, including five devoted grandchildren, KaTerriyon, Kamry, Lauren, and A'mara McGhee and Tylan King; one great grandchild, Ky'Rei Gibson; many devoted friends, Chief Patricia Barber Lundy of Marshallville, Georgia, Bertha Brown, Catherine Jackson, Angela Ezell, Sherry Jones, Laura Wilson, Barbara McLaughlin, Vivian Simpson, Shae McDonald, Kirsten Ellerbee, Jeanette Leary, and Nicole Walker Mathis; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
