MSG Jackie Dennis Walker, US Army (Retired) of 805 South Pecan Street, Cordele, Georgia, died Thursday, April 24, 2025, at his residence.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia.. The burial will follow at the Pleasant Hill Church Cemetery, Hatley Community, Cordele, Georgia.

Everyone entering the funeral home for visitations or services is required to wear a mask and to practice social distancing.  A mask must be worn throughout the stay.  You must supply your own mask.

Jackie Dennis Walker was born on January 13, 1960, in Crisp County, Georgia. He and his twin, Jacquelyn, were born to Pete Walker, Jr., and Vola Mae Bryant Walker. Jackie grew up in a close-knit family and was educated in the Crisp County School System. He graduated from Crisp County High School in 1978, marking the beginning of a life filled with dedication and service.

As a child, Jackie joined the Beulahland Baptist Church in Cordele, Georgia, where he nurtured his faith and values that would guide him throughout his life.

Jackie began his distinguished military career by enlisting in the United States Army on December 27, 1978. He served his country with honor and dedication until his retirement on October 31, 1999. During his time in the Army, Jackie worked in various roles, including as a Motor Transport Operator, FC Systems Repairer, and Armament Repairer.

His commitment to excellence earned him numerous accolades, including:  Meritorious Service Medal; Army Commendation   Medal (3rd Award); Army Achievement Medal (4th Award); Army Good Conduct Medal (7th Award); Non-Commissioned Officer   Professional Development Ribbon with Numeral 3; Army Service Ribbon; Overseas Service Ribbon (2nd Award); Army (Retired)  Lapel Button; Sharpshooter Badge (Rifle) and Driver and Mechanic Badge.

Jackie also completed various educational courses during his service, such as the Motor Transport Operator Course, Leadership Development Course, Drill Sergeant Course, Basic NCO Education System Course, Instructor Training Course, and NCO Education System Course.

On April 24, 2025, Jackie transitioned from this life, leaving behind a legacy of service and dedication. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Roy L. Walker, Herbert Walker, Evelyn Crapp, Willie James Walker, LeJean Walker Gee, and Johnny B. Bryant.

Jackie Dennis Walker's life was a testament to dedication, honor, and service. His contributions to his country and the love he shared with his family and friends will be forever cherished.

Jackie is survived by his son, Travon D. Walker of Chicago, Illinois; his sisters, Tonie Nance and Jacquelyn D. Walker of Cordele, Georgia; his brother, Master Gunnery Sergeant Troy L. (Jayne) Walker, US Marine Corps (Retired) of Orlando, Florida; his aunt, Elizabeth Walker of Macon, Georgia; a host of nieces and nephews, to include Jeffery Walker, Dwayne Nance, and   Vola Nance; a host of cousins, other  relatives, and many sorrowing friends.
