Emma Jean Howard, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Monday, September 14, 2026, at her home, surrounded by the quiet grace of a life richly fulfilled.

Emma was born on June 11, 1945, in Dooly County, Georgia, to the loving union of the late Willie James Howard and Gussie Brinson Howard. She was a proud graduate of Vienna High School. At an early age, she gave her heart to Christ and united in Christian fellowship with the Reedy Branch Baptist Church in Byromville, Georgia.

Emma found her greatest joy in the simple and heartfelt treasures of life. She loved being surrounded by her family and friends, whose presence was her greatest comfort. Her gentle smile, warm demeanor, and quiet strength brightened every gathering.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie James and Gussie Brinson Howard; her grandchildren, Daveyiale Howard and Yvette Bell; and brother, Willie "Snookie" Howard, Jr.

Loving memories will forever be cherished in the hearts of her devoted children: Reginald Howard, Sr. (Carla) and Linda Gail Howard, both of Byromville, Georgia; three beloved grandchildren, Shakonda Lindsey (Mario) of McDonough, Georgia, Reginald Howard, Jr., and Yamashetha Smith, both of Byromville, Georgia; 10 precious great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; her loving sisters, Dorothy McKenzie (Scottie) of Montezuma, Georgia and Ariebell Barron (David) of Byromville, Georgia; her caring brothers, Bennie Howard (Rose) of Cordele, Georgia, Tyrone Howard (Irene) of Miami, Florida, Eugene Howard (Julianetta) of Miami, Florida, and Willie Robert Howard of Warner Robins, Georgia; a special friend, Barbara Smith of St. Petersburg, Florida; her cherished circle of friends at the Gatwick Senior Village in Perry, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
