Mrs. Sarah Lee Jordan Willis

Mrs. Sarah Lee Jordan Willis of 102 Sandstone Drive, Americus, Georgia, died on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at her residence.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the sanctuary of the New Corinth Baptist Church in Leslie, Georgia. The burial will follow in the churchyard cemetery.

Sarah Lee Jordan Willis better known as “Sweet” was a beacon of joy, faith, and unconditional love whose vibrant spirit touched everyone blessed to know her. Born on August 2, 1942, in Sumter County, Georgia, she was the beloved daughter of the late Luther Bell Jordan, Jr. and Rosa Lee Reese Jordan. Sarah received her education at the Nunn Industrial Public School of Sumter County, laying the foundation for a life defined by hard work, community, and service.

From an early age, Sarah cultivated a deep, abiding faith. She dedicated her life to Christ and became a devoted member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, where her rich voice lifted the congregation for many years as a faithful member of the choir. Her servant’s heart was also felt on the Kitchen Committee, where she combined her gift of hospitality with fellowship.

Sarah spent many fulfilling years working as a caregiver and housekeeper, bringing warmth, dignity, and meticulous care to every home she entered. Her days were filled with simple, beautiful pleasures. She found true delight in reading her Bible, tending to her vibrant flower garden, solving puzzles, singing, dancing, and cooking soul-stirring meals for those she loved. Above all, her greatest earthly joy was her family, cherishing every moment surrounded by the laughter of her children and grandchildren.

On August 11, 2026, Sarah peacefully transitioned from labor to reward at her home. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leroy Willis, Sr.; her parents; two sisters, Jessie Mae Jordan and Viola Floyd; and three brothers, Henry Jordan, Tommie Jordan, and L. C. Jordan.

Her precious memory will forever be cherished by her loving children: Kenneth Willis (Heather) of Atlanta, Georgia; Darlene Willis and Reatha Willis, both of Americus, Georgia; Amanda Willis of Orlando, Florida; and Leroy Willis, Jr. of Americus, Georgia; her twelve grandchildren: Kendrell Willis, LaTeskia Clark, Shantrice Clark, Brittney Willis-Edward (Bakari), Shantavier Willis, Eric Clark, Jr., Xavier Willis, Oneisha Willis, Jalesa Coley, Travin Willis (Tahjah), Christopher Willis, and Kaitlyn Willis; twelve great-grandchildren: De’Asia Williams, Anthony Tramel, Leyana Gaskins, Samiya Borders, Niviah Aikens, Are’ana Edwards, Marcus Willis, Travin Willis, Jr., Tyler Willis, Nova Leonard, Aziza Clark, and Travayah Willis; eight god-grandchildren: Chiquita Coley, Alexeus Mercer, Sh’Qual White, Tykeria O’neil, Tyonna O’neil, Caden Jordan, Zaiden Gipson, and Journee Mercer; her sisters-in-law, Maggie Willis and Luera Jordan-Boone; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and countless sorrowing friends.
