Monica Shenita Cornelious Grover was born on November 7, 1968, to the loving parents of George and Minnie Cornelious. Born and raised in Cordele, Georgia, she was educated through the Crisp County School System. At an early age, Monica accepted Christ as her personal Savior and became a faithful member of Greater Morris Tabernacle Baptist Church.

She possessed a deep passion and love for the elderly, which naturally led her to a fulfilling career as a caregiver. Monica loved singing, listening to music, and dancing—joyful gifts she brought into every home and facility she entered, spreading warmth, happiness, and affection to all those in her care.

On July 24, 2026, Monica transitioned to eternal life. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Minnie Cornelious, and her brothers, Gregory, George, and Reginald Cornelious.

She leaves behind a lasting legacy of love, strength, and resilience in the face of life’s adversity. Her memory will be forever cherished by her beloved husband, Albert Grover of Cordele, Georgia; her loving sons, Grady L. Butts, Jr. of Dallas, Texas and Brandon J. Butts of Fairbanks, Alaska; her bonus son, Taye Grover of Texas; her adored grandchildren, Kenniya Butts, Ava Curry, Adriana Towns, Adrian Towns all of Cordele, Georgia, Chanze Butts and Logan Butts of Vienna, Georgia, and Generia Butts of Byron, Georgia; her siblings, Terry (Melvin) Jones of Cordele, Georgia, Joyce (Gabriel) Sanchez of Hawkinsville, Georgia, and Keith (Mary) Cornelious of Macon, Georgia; her sister-in-law, Tracy Grover of Vienna, Georgia; her aunts, Henrimae Bell of Indialantic, Florida, Mary Gordon of Jacksonville, Florida, and Thelma Cornelious of Macon, Georgia; her bonus mother, Vesta Beal Sheppard of Cordele, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
