Mrs. Margaret Gray Barron of 124 Fairway Two Drive, Americus, Georgia, died Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at the Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held Friday, July 24, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the sanctuary of the Union Tabernacle Baptist Church in Americus, Georgia. The burial will follow at Eastview Cemetery in Americus, Georgia.

Mrs. Margaret Gray Barron was born on December 15, 1945, in Sumter County, Georgia, to the late McClendon Gray and Grossie Mae Gray Farris. On Tuesday, July 14, 2026, she peacefully transitioned into eternal rest.

Margaret grew up in Sumter County and attended Staley Middle School. A woman of deep faith and devotion, she was a faithful member of the Eastview Seventh-day Adventist Church in Americus, Georgia. She loved the Lord with all her heart and found continuous comfort, strength, and joy in listening to gospel music day and night.

Margaret lived life with vigor, color, and creativity. She had a passion for crafting, decorating, and preparing delicious meals for those she loved. She took immense pride in working outdoors, cultivating a beautiful yard that reflected her eye for detail and beauty. Margaret was well known for her stylish sense of fashion, her love for shopping for anything pretty, and her enjoyment of watching African movies. Above all else, her greatest joy was her family, whom she loved unconditionally and to the fullest.

Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved parents, McClendon Gray and Grossie Mae Farris Gray. Her cherished siblings, Doris Gray Lusane, Pearlie Gray Smith, Albert M. Gray, and Lillie Gray Jackson, also preceded her in death.

Her love, warmth, and legacy will forever be cherished by: her loving children: Vickie Pless (Horace) of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Willie Barron of Americus, Georgia, Patricia Barron of Americus, Georgia, Stephanie Lemond of Americus, Georgia, Monica Barron of Americus, Georgia, and Stephen Barron all of Americus, Georgia; 16 grandchildren, including Tonisha Barron of Douglas, Georgia, whom she raised as her own; a host of great-grandchildren; her sister, Melissa Gray of Albany, Georgia; her sister-in-law, Saundra Gray of Kathleen, Georgia; her brother-in-law, James Smith of Florida; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many sorrowing friends.
