Mr. Johnny Clyde Daniels of 300 Westend Avenue, Ashburn, Georgia, died Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele, Georgia,

The funeral service will be held Friday, August 7, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Crisp County Middle School Auditorium in Cordele, Georgia. The burial, with military honors, will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia.

Mr. Johnny Clyde Daniels was born on April 5, 1946, in Americus, Georgia, to the late Benjamin Daniels and the late Mozella Smith.

Educated in the Crisp County Public School System, Johnny C was a proud 1966 graduate of A. S. Clark High School. As a student, he wore the A. S. Clark RAMS green and gold with immense pride and distinction.

A man of duty, courage, and determination, Johnny C enlisted in the United States Army and served his country with honor during the Vietnam War. An Airborne Ranger, his heroism and sacrifice earned him the prestigious Purple Heart.

Upon returning to civilian life, Johnny C continued to break barriers and excel in his crafts: He earned degrees in Upholstery, Engineering, and Drafting from South Georgia Technical College.

He also made history as the first Black Engineer and established himself as the first Black Seamster with a dedicated upholstery shop in Cordele, Georgia.

Johnny C was deeply rooted in his community, known for his creative flair, leadership, and camaraderie. He was an early presenter and promoter of community Fashion Shows.

An avid gardener who found joy in working with his hands also served as a player and coach for the Big Dean A’s Softball team. He was dedicated member of the American Legion Post #542 and Larry’s Gang.

On Wednesday, July 29, 2026, Mr. Johnny Clyde Daniels completed his earthly journey and transitioned into eternal rest.

Johnny C’s vibrant spirit, life of service, and enduring legacy will be cherished by his loving companion: Earlene Callaway of Ashburn, Georgia; his loving children, Michelle Daniels of Cordele, Georgia, Jaquerian McCain of Alabama, Regina Powell (Bruce) of Cordele, Georgia, Valencia Rouse of Phenix City, Alabama, Castonia Hardy of Kathleen, Georgia, Ariel Daniels of Warner Robins, Georgia, and April Glenn of Cordele, Georgia; his bonus children, Sherrika Brown (Jeff) of Byron, Georgia, Vernette Felton of Milledgeville, Georgia, Corey Martin and Kenny Callaway of Ashburn, Georgia, Patricia Joyner (Michael) of Warner Robins, Georgia, Keona Manigault (Anthony) of Jacksonville, Georgia; his special granddaughter, Sha'Treka "Muff Nut" Daniels of Cordele, Georgia; 31 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Bennie Jean Daniels of Greenville, Michigan and Gloria Johnson of West Palm Beach, Florida; his brother, Marion Smith of Cordele, Georgia; A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many sorrowing friends.
