Mr. Henry Harris of 21430 GA Hwy 27, Vienna, Georgia, died on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Piedmont Macon Medical Hospital in Macon, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 3:00 PM in the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia. The burial will follow at Vienna City Cemetery in Vienna, Georgia.

Mr. Henry Harris, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, was born on July 22, 1956, in Dooly County, Georgia, to his parents, Henry C. Tenon and Hattie Mae Bunkley Harris (Clarence, Sr.). He passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Piedmont Macon Medical Hospital in Macon, Georgia.

Henry was raised in Dooly County and received his education through the Dooly County Public School System. At an early age, Henry accepted Christ into his life and joined Holly Grove Baptist Church in Vienna, Georgia.

Henry was a hardworking and dedicated man who spent his life providing for his family and serving his community. For 24 years, he drove big trucks for Van Vaughn, demonstrating a strong work ethic on the open road. Later, he joined the Dooly County Public Works department in 2008, where he served faithfully until his retirement in 2024.

An avid outdoorsman, Henry found joy in the simple, beautiful things in life. He loved fishing, hunting, gardening, and farming, working the land with patience and care. Above all else, his greatest treasure was his family. He cherished every moment spent surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Henry C. Tenon, Hattie Mae Bunkley Harris, and Clarence Harris, Sr., as well as his brother, Freddie Joe Lockett.

Henry leaves behind a legacy of strength, devotion, and cherished memories: to his wife: Mary Alice Peterson Harris of Vienna, Georgia; his children: Terry Peterson (Janlyn) of Vienna, Georgia, Jamie Harris of Valdosta, Georgia, Tiffany Harris of Montezuma, Georgia, and Haley Harris of Vienna, Georgia; his grandchildren: Takerra, Terica, Markayla, Jamiya, La'Asia, Noah, Isreal, and Aaliyah; four great-grandchildren; his sisters: Pastor Sarah A. Tenon-Smith (James) of Vienna, Georgia and Joyce Harris of Warner Robins, Georgia; his brothers: Henry A. Tenon of Jacksonville, Florida, Dwight Tenon (Tera) of Cordele, Georgia, Johnny Tenon of Vienna, Georgia, Charles Harris of Pinehurst, Georgia, Clarence Harris, Jr. (Ethel) of Unadilla, Georgia, and Jerry Adams (Flora) of Hawkinsville, Georgia; his aunt, Rosie Lee Riggins of Vienna, Georgia; his in-laws: Gloria Peterson of Albany, Georgia, Elizabeth Peterson, Johnny Peterson, and Walter Peterson, all of Vienna, Georgia; his special friends: J. C. Paul of Cordele, Georgia, and Jimmy Branch of Vienna, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
