Mother Nell Norma Hooks Ford of 2114 Dorris Street, Cordele, Georgia died Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at the Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, September 11, 2022 at 1:00 PM at the J. W. Williams Funeral Home Porte Cochere in Cordele, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Westview Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia.  Everyone in attendance is asked to please wear a mask and to practice social distancing.

The union of the late Mr. Jim Hooks and the late Mrs. Amy Lee Edison Hooks was blessed on May 12, 1939 with the birth of a daughter.  Born in Warwick, Georgia, she was named Nell  Norma.

She was educated in the public school system and attended the Fort Early Learning School in Warwick, Georgia.

Early in life she developed a love for the Lord and going to church.  Her love for the Lord and the church was also evidenced through her faithful service at the Milldale Missionary Baptist Church.  She served as Mother of the Church and willingly committed herself to help whenever called upon.

Mother Ford served faithfully under the leadership of many pastors, to include  Reverend Carl Munns, Jr., Reverend Isaac Owens, and Apostle Cleo Westbrook.  Her heart was always committed to Milldale.

When not attending church, she enjoyed spending time with her family.  She also enjoyed eating and crafting.

On Wednesday, August 31, 2022, our beloved Mother Nell  Norma Hooks Ford traded the cares of this life for a brand new home.  She is also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Deacon O. B. Ford; her siblings, Mrs. Lizzie Mae Johnson Hooks, Ms. Josephine Hooks, Mr. Sears Swinton Hooks, Mr. Madison Hooks, and Ms. Georgia Ann Hooks.

Her life will forever be cherished by her loving goddaughter, Ms. Lizzie Hooks of Cordele, Georgia; her loving siblings, Mr. Joe Hooks of Americus, Georgia, Mrs. Elizabeth Hooks Cross of Albany, Georgia and Mrs. Sarah Hooks Pridgen of Daytona Beach, Florida; her sisters-in-law, Mrs. Ora Lee Ford and Mrs. Annie Bell Heath both of Brooklyn, New York; her special nieces and nephews, Mrs. Lakesia Law, Ms. Amy Lee Hooks, Ms. Janice Ford, and Mr. Kerry Cross all of Cordele, Georgia, Ms. Shirley Hooks of Sylvester, Georgia, Ms. Mona Brown of Daytona Beach, Florida, Mr. Jasper Hooks of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Mr. Rufus Brown of Houston, Texas; a host of cousins,  other relatives and many sorrowing friends, to include Mrs. Gradean Ford, Mrs. Ann Ross, Ms. Clara Redding, and Mother Ida Bell Patrick all of Cordele, Georgia.
