Mother Mary Kendrick Burrough of 513 East 27th Avenue, Cordele, Georgia, died Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Abbeville Crossing in Abbeville, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 3:00 PM in the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia. The burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Pinehurst, Georgia.

Mother Mary Kendrick Burrough walked through this life as a gentle vessel of grace, radiating the love of Christ to every soul she met. Born on March 12, 1944, in Dooly County, Georgia, she was the beloved daughter of the late Deacon Roosevelt Kendrick, Sr. and Mrs. Ola Mae Cheese Kendrick. Reared in a home built upon prayer and deep devotion, she received her education in the Dooly County School System and planted her feet firmly upon the promises of God from an early age.

A faithful servant who truly loved the Lord, Mother Burrough dedicated her heart and voice to the Kingdom as a devoted member of Albany First Deliverance Pentecostal Church, where she lifted her praises in harmony with the Evangelical Faith Mass Choir. Her spirit was defined by kindness, warmth, and an unwavering testimony. She found her greatest joy in fellowship—whether preparing delicious, soulful meals in her kitchen, lovingly spoiling her grandchildren, or opening the Scriptures to share the Word of God with anyone blessed to sit in her company.

On August 15, 2026, Mother Burrough transitioned from labor to reward, entering into the eternal rest prepared for the faithful. Her departure marks the sacred closing of a generation of loving and caring elders who paved the way for generations to come. In addition to her parents, she was lovingly reunited in glory with her daughter, Michelle; her sisters, Christine Wiggins, Lola Kendrick, Mary Kendrick, Virlene Johnson, and her cherished twin sister, Martha Warren; and her brothers, Eddie B. Kendrick, Lloyd Kendrick, Lonnie Kendrick, Roosevelt Kendrick, Jr., and Jerome Kendrick.

Her legacy of faith, kindness, and prayer lives on through her devoted sons, William Burrough, Jr. (Shannon) of Warner Robins, Georgia, Charles W. Burrough (Tammy) of Cordele, Georgia, and Michael Burrough of Cordele, Georgia; her loving grandchildren, Vascorey Riley, Charles Burrough, Jr., Jordan Burrough, Jason Burrough, Ashley Burrough, Briana Nichole Burrough, Michelle Burrough, Kandis Burrough, and Nibyre King; three precious great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Gwendolyn Hall; her devoted caregiver, Shema Patterson, along with the caring staff of Abbeville Crossing; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, and sorrowing friends.
