Mother Elnora M. McBurrows of 620 Hill Street, Rochelle, Georgia died Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Baptist Village in Waycross, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 10:00 AM in the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Shady Grove Church Cemetery in Rochelle, Georgia.

Everyone entering the funeral home for visitations or services is required to wear a mask and to practice social distancing.  A mask must be worn throughout the stay.  You must supply your own mask.

In His infinite wisdom and gentle grace, Almighty God reached down from Heaven and whispered ever so quietly to one of his children these words "come with me my daughter for it's time to go home" and so it was that  Thursday, January 25, 2024 God closed the eyes of our   beloved Elnora.

Elnora M. McBurrows was born on October 17, 1919 in Abbeville, Georgia to the late Oscar and Mamie Miller.  She was preceded in death by her siblings Early Miller, Fester Miller, Elijah Miller, Sr., Sammie Miller, Lillie Mae Harris, Sarah Lee Floyd, and Bertha McBurrows.  Elnora married the late George Dean.  He was the love of her life.  From this union three daughters were born.  Mrs. Georgia Easley of Ewing, New Jersey; Mrs. Louise Craig of Waycross, Georgia; and Mrs. Mamie R. Canty of Paterson, New Jersey.  Several years later Elnora found love again and married the late Quinton McBurrows.

She was a long-time resident of Rochelle, Georgia before moving to Waycross, Georgia.  Elnora was a faithful member of New Travelers Home Missionary Baptist Church in Abbeville, Georgia where she served on numerous ministries.  She was a member of Eastern Star Fairfield Chapter 41.  Elnora worked many years in the Rochelle, Georgia school system.

"Ms. Nora", as her family and friends affectionately called her had a big heart and was well known for her down-home cooking.  She could bake cakes that would melt in your mouth.  Her impeccable seamstress skills were self-taught.  When she was not tending to her garden, she could be found jumping in her pickup truck to drive to check on family and friends.

Along with her daughters, Elnora leaves to cherish fond memories: eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, seven great, great grandchildren, and two great, great, great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  She also showed motherly love to Ernestine and Ann Braziel.  Elnora also leaves to cherish fond memories her sister friend, Mrs. Georgia Lewis Teague of Rochelle, Georgia.
