On March 30, 1922 a beautiful spirit was welcomed to this world with the birth of our beloved, Mother Ruby Lee Rogers Quarterman.  Born in Americus, Georgia, she was born to the late Killis and Fannie Rogers.

She was educated in the public schools of Sumter County.

Her willingness to serve the Lord was evident as she united with the Beulahland Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Morris Hillsman.  She loved attending church and she especially loved wearing her "church hats."  She remained a faithful member until her passing.

Born with a love of cooking, she was employed by Rosa Wade Cafeteria for many years.  She was infamous for her "Sunday Dinners."  If you came, you were fed;  she always had enough and she wanted to make sure that everyone ate.

She was lovingly known to her family as "Dearma" and to others in the area she was  regarded as a "Neighborhood Mom."  Raising her children and several of grandchildren, it was understood why she was a praying mother and grandmother.

It was no doubt that she loved her family, but she also had other loves and interests.  She was the #1 Atlanta Braves fan.  She also loved     fishing and loved listening to Gospel music, especially "her" Canton Spirituals and "her" Williams Brothers.  Her favorite song was "Farther Along."

On Saturday, November 13, 2021, a beautiful, kind and loving spirit, who we loved and adored, peacefully transitioned from this life.  She is also preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Thomas Quarterman, Sr.; her children, Mr. Robert Jones, Sr., Mr. Sylvester Quarterman, Sr., Mr. Selven Quarterman, Mr. Albert Quarterman, Miss Patricia Ann     Quarterman, Mrs. Earlene Tuff, and Mr. Frank Quarterman and her siblings, Mr. Albert Rogers, Mr. Sleepy Rogers, Mr. Charlie Rogers, Mr. Horace Rogers, and Ms. Beatrice Rogers.

Precious memories are left to her loving and devoted family, her children:  Mr. Arthur (Sallie) Quarterman of Cordele, Georgia, Mr. Curtis (Melissa) Quarterman of Albany, Georgia, Mrs. Tommie Lee (Judge) Glenn, Mr. Willotis Quarterman, Mr. Willie Lee Quarterman, and Mr. Jessie Quarterman, Sr. all of Cordele, Georgia, Mr. Walter Quarterman of Fitzgerald, Georgia, Ms. Louise Quarterman of Cordele, Georgia, Mr. A. J.
