Mother Virginia Hollis Reddick of 2004 Roney Street, Americus, Georgia died Saturday, September 24, 2022 at her residence.

The graveside funeral service will be held Sunday, October 2, 2022 at 1:00 PM at the Eastview Cemetery Pavilion in Americus, Georgia.  Everyone in attendance is asked to please wear a mask and to practice social distancing.

On March 18, 1928 in Sumter County, Georgia, a precious gift was born to Walter Hollis, Sr. and Minnie Lee Hollis.  They named their gift Virginia.

At early age she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and united with the Big Bethel Baptist Church.  She later continued serving the Lord and the Church of Christ in Plains, Georgia.

She received her education in the Americus School System.  Reading was always a part of her life.  She  enjoyed reading the newspaper and found great comfort in reading her Bible.

An excellent cook, she enjoyed cooking and sharing with those she loved.

On Saturday, September 24, 2022, our Heavenly Father, in His infinite wisdom, called our beloved from this life to her eternal home.  Her parents and her siblings, Essie Lee Black. Walter Hollis, Jr., Myron E. Hollis and Mary E. Dixon, each precede her in death.  She is also preceded in death by her grandson, Darrin Ross.

Cherishing her life and her legacy, she leaves her son, Charles Reddick (Gloria) of Americus, Georgia; her   grandchildren, Eric Reddick of Oxford, Georgia, Evette Cladd of Somerset, New Jersey, Michelle Cladd of North Brunswick, New Jersey, Carla Reddick-McClure (Eric) of Columbus, Georgia, Charles Reddick, Jr. of Columbus, Georgia, Pamela Richardson (Eric) of Joint Base Lewis McChord, Washington, Melanie Richardson (Travis) of Americus, Georgia, and Jason Arnett of Americus, Georgia; her sisters, Minnie H. Engram and Edith Ann Green both of Americus, Georgia; her brother, James Hollis (Mary) of Americus,  Georgia; a dedicated niece, Gail German of Americus, Georgia; a host of other relatives and many friends, to   include her special friends and dedicated caregivers,  Kimberly Pickett and Chaunda Callaway.
